The pads are on and 2022 training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers continues this weekend. The team will take the field at Latrobe Memorial Stadium for Friday Night Lights, and the players are already feeling the nostalgia. All-Pro edge rusher and reigning Defensive Player of the Year, TJ Watt admits it takes him back to his younger years.
"Goosebumps. I mean, Friday Night Lights is... brings you back to your high school days."

"When Coach T [Mike Tomlin] says, 'This Friday is a Friday Night Light game,' I really get that feel of like a high school game with my brothers," linebacker Marcus Allen added.
Pittsburgh is concluding their second week of training camp this off-season, and tempers for some are already high. With several players vying to make a roster spot, the pressure is on, but Friday Night Lights should be fun for all involved.
"Man, we hop on some yellow buses... It's funny to listen to guys talk and share stories about their high school experiences," said Coach Tomlin.

"There's definitely some more energy and some more juice at that practice. It's more electric," tight end, Zach Gentry added. "It's more interaction for the fans. Everybody's on the edge of their seat," defensive tackle and captain, Cam Heyward mentioned as well.
Training camp this year thus far has already been exciting and entertaining for Steeler Nation. With so many storylines and position battles, especially at quarterback, it will be really exciting for fans to see how far a lot of these players have come once they're under the lights.
Along with "backers on backers" and the "2-minute drill," the "7 shots" segment of practice each day is arguably the most fun to watch. Combining all of these elements into an 11 on 11, scrimmage-style format for the fans is something that's highly anticipated every year.
"You have people all over the place. You have people screaming. It's like an all-star high school game you could say. And everyone's out there, everyone's excited. It's always amazing," said strong safety, Terrell Edmunds.
