Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is just over a week away, and that means Madden ratings are getting revealed. A few months ago, apparent leaks were released, which ended up being inaccurate. In that original leak, Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson came in with an 86 rating at No. 20.
Now, Madden has released the official ratings and rankings, and Johnson isn't even in the top-20 at his position, somehow. Ari Meirov listed the top-20 wide receivers for Madden NFL 23.
Top 10 WRs in Madden NFL 23:
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) July 18, 2022
Davante Adams: 99
Cooper Kupp: 98
Tyreek Hill: 97
DeAndre Hopkins: 96
Stefon Diggs: 95
Justin Jefferson: 93
Mike Evans: 92
Terry McLaurin: 91
Keenan Allen: 91
Amari Cooper: 90
Okay, Johnson not being in the top-10 is expected and deserved. With that being said, Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper is a bit of a questionable inclusion, especially over the likes of Ja'Marr Chase and Deebo Samuel. Now, for the 11-20 on the WR list...

Nowhere to be found on the top-20 list, and there are some questionable names on there over Johnson. Madden, seemingly like the national media, clearly aren't too impressed with the Steelers. A few days ago, it was announced that Minkah Fitzpatrick is rated only 89 in this year's version of the video game.
Beyond Johnson, tight end Pat Freiermuth included wasn't in the top-15 list at his position, either. Here's what the ratings look like for the main weapons on the Steelers offense:
Steelers WR and TE ratings
- Johnson - 85
- Freiermuth - 79
- Chase Claypool - 78
- George Pickens - 74
- Anthony Miller - 74
- Miles Boykin - 71
- Calvin Austin III - 70
Those are some uninspiring ratings, with just one offensive weapon rated above 80. That doesn't include running back, as Najee Harris has to be at least an 80. The ratings haven't yet been released for running backs, but he figures to be top-15, at minimum. Additionally, while Pittsburgh's rookie WR Austin is rated just a 70 overall, he is amongst the top in speed in the game at WR.

Austin's speed of 95 slots in at tied-for-ninth with Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf. Madden will be revealing their ratings all week long, including the pass rushers on Tuesday. TJ Watt has already been reported as a member of the 99 club, so Alex Highsmith is the only one to truly watch at that position.
What do you guys think about the initial ratings? Is Johnson too low? Who else is too low? Let us know your thoughts on the recent Madden ratings!
