The Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing in a stadium with a brand new name in 2022. On Sunday night, 93.7 The Fan host, Andrew Fillipponi, announced on Twitter that the Kraft Heinz organization wasn't going to renew its naming rights deal and the Steelers were no longer going to be playing their home games at "Heinz Field."

Breaking: Heinz Field is no more. The ketchup giant will not extend its naming rights deal for 2022. Sources say a new name for the stadium could be announced this week.

The franchise has called "Heinz Field" home since the team moved to the new stadium in 2001. It's never had another name.

And then, speculation began by fans. Rivers Casino and UPMC were two organizations that seemed fitting to be active in the sponsorship deal. Speaking of casinos, fans were even wagering to see what the next stadium name would be. Follow our list of the best Pay N Play online casinos. With all that being said however, we don't have to speculate any longer. The new name has been released, unofficially, and it's going to take some getting used to.

Monday morning, news was broken once again by Fillipponi on Twitter that the team's new stadium name will be Acrisure Stadium, named after the insurance brokerage firm based in Michigan.

Breaking: The ketchup bottles are coming down. Heinz Field will be renamed Acrisure Stadium. After the Michigan-based insurance brokerage firm. An official announcement could come as soon as Tuesday.

Before Heinz Field, the team previously played at Three Rivers StadiumPitt Stadium, and before that, Forbes Field.

The team is bringing in a new era all together, it seems! For an organization that is the staple for continuity and consistency in everything that they do, the 2021 season marked the end of a number of meaningful parts of Pittsburgh football with the stadium name change, the retirement of Ben Roethlisbergerand Kevin Colbert exiting as the team's General Manager. 2022 will begin a whole new era in many aspects.

For those that aren't familiar with the Acrisure name, Bloomberg.com's company profile on Acrisure states:

"Acrisure, LLC provides insurance services. The Company offers claims department, life and health insurance programs, estate planning, property and casualty, employee benefits, commercial, and personal insurance services. Acrisure serves transportation, insurance, medical, distribution, retail, real estate, marine, mining, and construction industries in the United States."

With the new name change, things will likely look different in 2022, sadly we will say goodbye to the giant ketchup bottles that currently sit above the endzone on the open end of the stadium.

But that doesn't mean you'll have to eat "Hunt's" ketchup anytime soon!

Fans seem to hate the name change, just based on the instant reaction via Twitter:

Change can be good, though, it just takes some getting used to. Out with the old, in with the new, goodbye "Heinz Field," hello Acrisure Stadium! We'll always have our memories at the beloved "Heinz Field," but we'll have to create new memories with the new era at Acrisure Stadium starting in 2022.
