The Pittsburgh Steelers' search for a new general manager is heating up as they've brought in Andy Weidl this week for a second interview. Weidl has 24 years of NFL scouting experience and has spent five years with the Philadelphia Eagles, two of which as the team's Vice President of Player Personnel.

"Weidl has played an integral role in helping construct rosters that have produced playoff appearances in three of the last four seasons, including two NFC East championships (2017 and 2019) and a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII." - via PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Weidl was originally the Assistant Director of Player Personnel in Philadelphia from 2016 to 2017, but was promoted in 2018 to Director of Player Personnel before becoming Vice President.

From 1998 to 1999, Weidl was actually a Player Personnel Assistant for the Steelers before similar stints with the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, and eventual Philadelphia Eagles. He's a Pittsburgh native, and previously worked under Tom Donahoe and former Steelers scout and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Bill Nunn.
