Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers' inside linebacker, Myles Jack joined 93.7 The Fan after organized team activities to discuss how becoming a Steeler has been so far, playing for Brian Flores, working with Devin Bush, and much more.

When asked about his first day with the team, "fun" pretty much summed it up for Jack:

"To put it short and simple, this is - it's great to come to work here. It's fun. Today was very fun, actually. We've been talking about the plays, but to actually get it in motion, see the guys, everybody line everything up, I think it's fun. Just to get out there, do 11-on-11, actually play football." Jack continued. "I just say the coaching here, man. There's a reason why we know what we're doing, what we're going for. I feel like that's very, very emphasized here. Everything is details. You know what you're supposed to do, you know where you're supposed to be. Any questions you have, they can answer. I think it's just a clear communication all around the building that I really enjoy."

As far as the comradery with Jack's teammates on the first day of OTA's this week:

"It's fun, man. It's fun, you know what I mean. I've been watching old tape and just trying to put the old defense together, but to actually stand out there and stand next to guys, it's cool man. It makes you want to up your game. It's fun."

When studying film from last year, Jack expressed what he's looking to accomplish most:

"I would say just kind of their scheme. I think I see myself being very physical in the run game, showing up, trying to eliminate things. And even in coverage, trying to be very aggressive, take away space, take away throws, so that's really what I'm coming in trying to emphasize and just take my skills up to another level. It's exciting, man. You come to work and you're ready to get better. You want to get better. And then working with Coach [Brian] Flores, he has a standard of excellence that everyday, we're going to work. It's fun, it's really fun."

Diving more into working with Flores, Jack explained how grateful he is for the newly added coach:

"It's a blessing in disguise. That's really the main reason I came here because I knew I was going to get coached up. And with Coach Flores, he's a head coach, clear as cut. He's a head coach in this league, so for me to have him on a one-on-one basis, and coach up the linebackers, I think it's stealing for me. Any question I can ask, he has an answer. It's great. It's great coming from what I'm used to."

When asked about working with fellow inside linebacker, Devin Bush, Jack seemed optimistic:

"We're getting better. Getting to know each other everyday, just working each other, seeing how he sees things, seeing how I see things. When you got your other backer, you really collaborate. So, what one is doing, the other - it's kind of like left hand, right hand. So, we're building that comradery and just, day by day, it'll get better and better." He continued. "We can all learn from each other. But any questions that I've had, he's [Bush] answered. Because obviously, he's been here. He knows the defense. He can kind of give me the little tricks and trades, and then any questions that he has for me, I can definitely make it make sense. It's been smooth."

On really knowing the maximum potential of this defense, Jack couldn't hold back his excitement:

"Oh, man. It's going to be fun to watch, trust me. That's going to be fun. I think we've got high expectations and I think we expect big things this year. This time period right now, the next couple three weeks with OTA's, it's going to be crucial, so I'm excited."

Jack finished the interview by joking about getting around the city of Pittsburgh, but overall seemed extremely happy and ready to play for the Steelers in 2022.

Jack is entering his seventh season in the league after being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft in the second round (36th overall). He's played in 88 total games, recording 485 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 1 defensive touchdown. He was acquired by Pittsburgh earlier this off-season.
