Steelers' Kevin Dotson Is Confident About His Health And Whoever Is At Quarterback

One of the biggest flaws of the Pittsburgh Steelers the past couple seasons has been the ineffective and inconsistent play of the offensive line. Kevin Dotson will be a key part of the unit after only playing nine games in 2021. He had the Steelers faithful believing him to be a steal from the fourth round after his rookie season, but ankle injuries plagued him during his sophomore season last year.

The offensive guard is now in a potential position battle with second year lineman, Kendrick Green. Dotson should have no business losing the starting spot, but his health will be crucial to remain as a staple of the Steelers offensive line.

Dotson spoke with local media in the locker room on Tuesday and gave a few updates on the status of his health and his expectations for the season. He has no reservations about his health and is looking forward to the upcoming season with a ton of confidence:

"I feel great. I'm confident in my ankles. I feel confident about being on the left side. I'm confident in knowing I can learn the playbook," said Dotson. "Everything is coming together for me."

When asked about his off-season work ethic, the third year lineman had this to say:

"I was training pretty much the whole off-season just ankle, mobility and strength so I felt confident by the time that I came back."

Dotson was also asked about the ongoing quarterback battle that will continue throughout the summer and training camp.

"Everybody that we brought in is competent enough to do their job. I know they can do it at a high level. They have the ideas, the knowledge, the capability to do everything."

He even admitted that he wasn't sure if he was going to show up to OTAs, but is glad he made the decision to attend the voluntary team workouts.

"At first, I wasn't trying to come here because I like training the whole time, but it actually was a benefit because you get to meld with your people. That's a benefit that we got from this. We all get to come together and learn at the same time instead of someone coming later than anybody else."
