The Pittsburgh Steelers have a huge fanbase that spans all across America and even internationally as well. With such a historic team, with a gigantic fanbase, why would the team not be more of a talking point, especially with the new era coming in to take over? The headlines at the end of the season were all over the place about the retirement of Steelers' legend and future first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback, Ben RoethlisbergerSo with a QB battle underway in the Steel City between Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Mason Rudolph, why isn't this team more of a talking point for the national media?

NFL analysts and talking heads all over love to bash the Steelers and kill them off every off-season before the new season gets underway. Rich Eisen went on a little rant about how the team is loving this on The Rich Eisen Show.

"Nobody is talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers!"

After mentioning every other team in the AFC North and a reason why the media is talking about them, Eisen said:

"You haven't chosen a quarterback in the first round of a draft since 2004. The Steelers went to a rookie quarterback in the first round and the football world shrugs, did you see what happened with Russell Wilson? Did you see what happened with Tyreek Hill? Did you see what happened with Davante Adams? Do you see what happened with the Kansas City Chiefs losing Tyreek Hill? Do you see what happened with the Colts getting Matt Ryan? Do you see what happened with everybody in the AFC West? Hey, it's the Jacksonville Jaguars world that we're paying attention to more than the Steelers for various reasons."

Eisen is exactly right! The Black and Gold have been swept under the rug, like the world has forgotten about them! We know as fans of this team, that doesn't matter!

"My gosh, what's happening in the world? And you know who doesn't mind it? The Pittsburgh Steelers. I think they love this. Absolutely love it. Lying in wait, flying under the radar. Signing Minkah Fitzpatrick to the richest deal in the history of safeties. And everybody's like, yeah, well, what about the Deshaun Watson? What about the Buffalo Bills? They're the team everybody's paying attention to. What about the Tennessee Titans making that trade on the draft night?"

Eisen reiterated his comments made earlier this off-season that Pickett will start for the Black and Gold in Week 1.

"Honestly, more teams being talked about than the Pittsburgh Steelers is really weird. Now, then, you know, I think Kenny Pickett is going to start the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers. You know that I feel that way about it. I feel like he's going to get the gig. I feel like he's going to get the gig. And [Mike] Tomlin has the juice to basically say, we're starting a rookie and we'll go through the ups, we'll go through the downs, and we're going to get through those bumps because the faster we do it, the better it is. Or the Steelers just have the juice, suddenly when it comes to rookie quarterbacks. You remember Ben Roethlisberger didn't lose a regular season game his first year as quarterback."

Eisen offered congratulations to Fitzpatrick on his deal as well!

"But that's kind of what jarred me loose about the news that Minkah Fitzpatrick is the richest safety in the history of the world. So congratulations to him. And we'll see what the Pittsburgh Steelers look like when they open training camp."
