The NFL's reigning AP Defensive Player of the Year, Pittsburgh Steelers' edge rusher, TJ Watt, was interviewed Thursday by Steelers Live. He spoke about this being his sixth year in the league, helping out the younger players as much as possible, and how he's continuing to improve to be an even better version of himself than he was in 2021.

When asked about some of the younger players and fielding questions from them, Watt expressed that he's willing to do whatever he can to help:

"There's a good core group of veterans here to learn from, and no one is coming in here and being super loud, which I always appreciate. Not trying to be someone that they're not. Asking a lot of the right questions, being very attentive in meetings, and that's all you can really ask for this time of year." Watt continued. "It's just one of those things that as I keep continuing to progress here, not only just being successful on the field, but just continuing to be a leader here, I mean it's going on my sixth year so, that stuff [fielding questions from younger players] is just kind of natural. And I'm an open book. I'm not a guy that is uncomfortable sharing information. I'm trying to help this team win a Super Bowl any way possible."

The best is yet to come for Watt and the Steelers

Watt was asked if it feels like it's his sixth year in the league. It does not Watt proclaimed to put it lightly:

"No. This is flying by absolutely. It's insane how quickly it's gone by. I still feel great. I feel like my best football is ahead of me so, I'm very excited for this season," Watt said. "[I] Just continue to work. There's so many areas where I feel like I can improve just in the weight room, all off-season, when I'm here, just finding little details to continue to work on. I'm not satisfied, I'm really not. I think this group can be really successful and when we're all clicking, I think that is what this time of year is all about."

Watt also dove into the specifics of his training regimen, and the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.
