Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Has Seen Offensive Improvements Each Week; Sticking With Mitch Trubisky For Now As QB1

The Pittsburgh Steelers had their two best drives of the season in the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, those were the only two drives in which they did much of anything, as they scored just three points outside of those two drives in the first half.

Those two drives were still encouraging though, as quarterback Mitch Trubisky played his best half of football in a Steeler uniform in that first half. He tailed off in the second half, but it was those signs of life that's keeping him the starter (for now). In his weekly press conference on Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin talked about the offense. He thinks the offense, including Trubisky, has continued to make improvements each week and is encouraged by their progress.

"We've been better in every outing and it's reasonable to conclude that will continue," Tomlin said in his press conference. "Largely, I've seen improvement in all areas."

Fans don't exactly feel the same. For an offense that ranks 31st in the NFL in total yards per game, their criticism is warranted. The team put up just 17 points in the disappointing Week 3 loss, dropping the Steelers to 1-2. After two straight losses, the boo birds may get loud this weekend at Acrisure Stadium if the struggles continue. Particularly, the chants for rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett have already started.

Offensive coordinator Matt Canada hasn't done Trubisky any favors in three games so far, as his inept play-calling has been a reason for the lack of points. Rumors have began circulating regarding the status of Canada's job and the players' dissatisfaction with their coordinator thus far.

What do you guys think about Tomlin's comments regarding the offense's weekly improvements? When should the team look at turning to Pickett at QB?
