The big news keeps on coming for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Vance McDonald has officially announced his retirement this morning. After eight seasons in the league, the tight end is hanging them up and calling it quits.
"It's always been our dream and mission to leverage the platform given us through the NFL to help serve and uplift others along the way, and we will continue to find ways to serve others as we begin this next chapter of our lives. I am proud to retire a Steeler," McDonald said.
He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2013 and played in the Bay for four years before being traded to the Steelers. He played 101 games and started 77 of them, amassing 2,036 yards on 181 receptions and 15 touchdowns.
McDonald was a beast. He will be missed, and most remembered for this play:
