The NFL released their list of finalists for the Hall of Fame Class of 2018 on Tuesday night. That list included former guard Alan Faneca who makes it as a finalist for the third year in a row.

Faneca spent ten years in Pittsburgh after being drafted in the first round in 1998. Faneca was named to the All-Pro team 8 times, and 9 times to the Pro Bowl. He helped pave the way for the Steelers when they won the Super Bowl in 2005.

Hines Ward, Gary Anderson, and Bill Cowher were the most likely of the semi-finalists associated with the Steelers to make the finals, but they were left off. It's the second year in a row that Ward didn't make the cut for the finals.

Here is the full list of finalists

– Brian Urlacher

– Edgerrin James

– Randy Moss

– Terrell Owens

– Isaac Bruce

– John Lynch

– Brian Dawkins

– Ty Law

– Everson Walls

– Steve Hutchinson

– Alan Faneca

– Tony Boselli

– Kevin Mawae

– Joe Jacoby

The list of 15 finalists will be trimmed down again on Feb. 3
