Canton, Ohio is going to be crowded with black and gold this summer. Former Pittsburgh Steelers guard Alan Faneca and the late former talent scout Bill Nunn have been voted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
Faneca has been waiting in the wings for a few years now. A nine time Pro Bowler, 6 time First Team All Pro, and two time Second Team All Pro, many believe he should have been voted in sooner. He was considered to be one of if not the best run blocking guard in football for many of those years. He was also a big part of the team that won Super Bowl XL.
Nunn was a talent scout for the team up until 2014 (part time after 1987). Many people claim he is largely responsible for the dynasty of the Steel Curtain Steelers in the 70’s. He was a part of all the teams put out on the field up until his retirement.
They will be enshrined this summer, along with last years Steelers’ inductees Troy Polamalu, Bill Cowher, and Donnie Shell. They were not enshrined this summer due to Covid-19.
We congratulate both of these hard working gentlemen and their families on their success and displaying what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler.
