Steelers' Friday Injury Report Unfortunately Adds 3 New Names Ahead Of Prime Time Matchup Against Colts

The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football for a Week 12 matchup that will display two teams desperate for a win. The Colts seem like an energized and different bunch since the shocking hiring of former player, Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach following the termination of Frank Reich. On the other side, Mike Tomlin's group has been relatively healthy since the return of T.J. Watt, but still have a couple concerns on both sides of the ball leading into the conference battle. It is important to note that the team will practice on Saturday due to playing on Monday so there will be another update then.

Steelers Jaylen Warren

Backup running back and impressive rookie, Jaylen Warren suffered a hamstring injury against the Cincinnati Bengals and has not been a participant in practice all week. He was seen without pads, watching drills on Friday and given the nature of hamstring limitations, we may see an increased role for Benny Snell Jr. as the Steelers will likely be cautious with the undrafted player out of Oklahoma State.

Center, Mason Cole was out of his walking boot on Friday after wearing one most of the week due to a foot injury he suffered against Cincinnati. The offense certainly missed Cole after he exited. Although JC Hassenauer played okay in his absence, there was a difference without the regular starter in the lineup. The backup center is ready to go if his name is called upon as Cole only was a limited participant on Friday.

"Every week as a backup you prepare to start," Hassenauer said. "You never know when your opportunity is going to be. You have to take advantage of that opportunity. Every week I am going to prepare as if I'm starting, like I did last week and the weeks prior. We are going to take it day by day."

Steelers JC Hassenauer

Ahkello Witherspoon, who has been battling a hamstring injury for nearly a month did not practice and it would be a surprise for him to suit up against Indianapolis while special teams ace and wide receiver, Miles Boykin was a limited participant after not practicing most of this week with an oblique injury.

The list got longer Friday afternoon as three names were added. Robert Spillane was limited with a back issue while offensive lineman, James Daniels popped on the report with a groin injury and was not a full participant. Rookie linebacker, Mark Robinson would likely jump onto the active roster if Spillane's injury persists throughout the weekend. Guard, Kendrick Green would probably get a jersey, especially if both Cole and Daniels can't play. Tight end, Connor Heyward was the third new name on the list and did not practice due to an illness.
