If the Pittsburgh Steelers organization will have him, former Pro Bowl-winning quarterback Kordell Stewart would love the opportunity to be a part of the staff to help turn the ship around in the midst of what he called a "rebuilding year."
The University of Colorado product is already on the record calling out the team culture this year, so maybe the Steelers could benefit from bringing him in to give his perspective on helping improve things from the inside instead of just calling out things from afar.

The first-ever quarterback to rush for at least ten scores and add 20 plus through the air, according to Pro Football History in 1997, joined Chris Mueller and Anthony Fillipponi on The PM Team on 93.7 the Fan on Thursday and the co-hosts asked if the man known as Slash would be interested in joining new Indianapolis Colts interim-head Jeff Saturday as a fan favorite player to join an NFL coaching staff with little to no time spent coaching prior in the college ranks or NFL.
"I would say heck yes, give me that chance," Stewart said. "For me to get that phone call whether it be from coach Tomlin, the front office or whomever, it would have to be a cohesive thing as far as the decision is concerned. Most definitely I would be interested in doing something of that magnitude."
The 50-year-old, who last laced up his cleats on a pro football field in a 2005 Week 7 AFC North clash between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals as a member of the Ravens, said he would relish the opportunity to help out an organization that drafted him back in 1995, where he had the greatest success of his career, and who he "trusts and believes in."
An Old QB1 Helping Steelers New QB1?

Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett is already getting some advice via text messages from a former Steelers great, at the quarterback position, Ben Roethlisberger from outside the organization. Why not bring another in, in an official capacity, to help the 24-year-old from the University of Pittsburgh succeed as he tries to navigate the league?
The paths to pro football for Stewart and Pickett are different with the former joining the team as a second-round pick and the latter coming via the first round. But they both faced an uphill battle in year one to get to play.
While Pickett has been able to win the starting job away from Mitch Trubisky in year one, Slash had to play close to two seasons as a receiver before he got a chance to be the starting signal caller.
Pickett might not have the elite running ability that Stewart possessed and is more valued now than in his playing days but he does possess mobility which is incredibly important for a modern-day NFL quarterback.
Stewart has already given the New Jersey native a full endorsement at the starter's job.

He'd make a good fit as the Steelers' quarterback coach having been where Pickett is now. Through his first five games of NFL action, Pickett has eight picks to just two touchdowns, Stewart tossed seven scores and six interceptions in 1997, his first five as the full-time quarterback.
Stewart was able to work around his interception totals in his career and become a Pro Bowl talent at the position earning honors in 2001. With his knowledge from those days, he should be able to guide the young face of the franchise down a path to develop into a star.

So, Steeler Nation, do you think the team should bring in an old fan favorite to coach the team like the Colts? Do you think Stewart could help Pickett?
