Early Friday morning the Pittsburgh Steelers parted ways with former first round draft pick Devin Bush. Bush of course was the last player the Steelers traded up for in the first round. Moving from pick 20 to pick 10 the Steelers selected the linebacker from Michigan.

According to a report from the Seattle Times the Seattle Seahawks have come to an agreement with Bush on a one year contract. Earlier in the day Seattle General Manager John Schneider said that the inside linebacker position was “an area of concern for us". One of the Seahawks starting inside linebackers Jordyn Brooks is recovering from surgery in January to repair an ACL tear. They also lost Cody Barton who signed with Washington as a free agent this week.

Bush showed potential as a rookie but during his sophomore season he suffered an ACL tear against the Cleveland Browns. After missing most of the 2020 season but returned to the lineup in 2021 a shadow of himself. After working with linebacker coach Brian Flores in 2022 Bush appeared to look more like his old self. But it still wasn't enough for the Steelers to want to keep Bush.
After letting Bush hit the open market the Steelers signed Washington Commanders linebacker Cole Holcomb, and Miami Dolphins linebacker
Elandon Roberts. The signing of Roberts came minutes before the team announced the release of last years big name signing Myle Jack. The Steelers also lost back up middle linebacker Robert Spillane to the Las Vegas Raiders.
