Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers great, Brett Keisel joined The PM team w/ Poni and Mueller to talk about his life and some draft options that would be available to the franchise in the upcoming draft. Keisel, having played with Joey Porter from 2002-2006, had some insight into where his son, Penn State star, Joey Porter Jr. might fit in with the Steelers and Pittsburgh culture.

Porter Jr. would be an immediate impact player for the Steelers and at a position that the team desperately needs help with. Losing the team's top cornerback Cameron Sutton to the Detroit Lions in free agency, the Steelers are looking to get better at this position and have been for the last few years.
The Steelers have always seemed to be missing that lockdown corner that other teams benefit from on the defense, and rely more on the pass rush to help the defensive backs. Keisel, who played on one of the most complete defenses in not only Steeler history, but NFL history, talked about Joey Porter Jr.
"He looks like his dad out there, a lot of chirping talking, a lot of hand motions and getting in people's faces, I love that type of player."

The Steelers organization would love to have a young legacy join the team this year at the corner position. Porter Jr. has recalled the great visit he had with the team and has been linked to the Steelers in the national media since he separated himself as a top pick for the 2023 draft. Keisel talks about "Lil Peezy" and the other kids that were around during practice.
“It was awesome when we were playing, all those kids we’d have them down every Saturday. We could bring our kids in because it’s pretty much a walkthrough, it’s a relaxed environment, so all of us would bring our sons down and let them go in the locker room and let them be around the guys.”

Recalling how long Porter Jr. has been around the franchise because of his father, is comforting to hear from the Steeler great. Keisel is well respected among the organization, and if the Steelers could get a player like Porter Jr., then that would be an impeccable addition to the team. Porter Sr. had 300+ solo tackles during his tenure in Pittsburgh and was a vocal leader on and off the field for the team. Having a player that learned and plays like that would be the best thing for the new era of the Steelers.
