The Pittsburgh Steelers signed their recent seventh round draft pick, cornerback Cory Trice Jr. this week. Now, details of the contract have been released.

Cory Trice Jr. runs the 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Trice, a fifth-year senior, who originally was a safety, was shifted to cornerback while playing football for Purdue. He had a solid season in 2020 with 31 tackles and 2 pass breakups. He missed the majority of the 2021 season with a knee injury. In 2022, he led the team with 10 pass breakups, 34 tackles, and 2 interceptions.
He was often talked about as a possible sleeper pick and the Steelers definitely got a steal by nabbing him with a seventh round pick when most projections had him going by the fifth round. It is likely that the 2021 knee injury hampered his progress on the draft board.
Trice fits in nicely to the cornerback position. He will be a bit of a work in process, but has the raw skills, as well as the size and strength to be successful. He needs to work on developing his technical skills.

The Steelers doubled down on cornerbacks in the draft, selecting Joey Porter Jr. in the second round. He will fit in nicely with the cornerback group in Pittsburgh, joining Patrick Peterson, Levi Wallace, Ahkello Witherspoon, and James Pierre.
