A Franchise with a Winning Mentality
Art Rooney, who founded the Steelers in 1933, instilled a blue-collar work ethic and a dedication to excellence in the team from the beginning. And you can notice dedication in the game with the help of a premier casino experience and get positive emotions.

The Chuck Noll Era
In the late 1960's, the Steelers were struggling once again. They had never won a playoff game, and morale was low. That all changed when Chuck Noll was hired as head coach in 1969.

Noll's first draft pick in 1969 was defensive tackle Joe Greene, who would become the cornerstone of the legendary Steel Curtain defense. Over the next few years, Noll and his staff continued to draft and develop defensive talent, including linebackers Jack Lambert and Jack Ham, defensive end L.C. Greenwood, and cornerback Mel Blount.
The Steel Curtain Defense
The Steel Curtain defense of the 1970's remains one of the greatest units in NFL history. They were known for their toughness, physicality, and relentless pursuit of the ball. In the 1980's, the team relied on their “Cardiac Kids” offense, led by quarterback Terry Bradshaw and wide receiver Lynn Swann. They had a strong defense in the 1990's, with cornerback Rod Woodson and linebacker Kevin Greene as its captains. In the 2000's, they won two more Super Bowls with a team built around quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and a balanced offense and defense.
