There are many times that former Pittsburgh Steelers players complain about the media trying to sensationalize and hype things that just aren't there. They take some small tidbit, a random remark or an out-of-context phrase and imply that it means something it clearly doesn't. No one ever has to do that with Antonio Brown.

Former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown continues to show a disturbing pattern of behavior.
When he left the NFL in 2021, many fans breathed a sigh of relief thinking he would kind of fade into his rap career or random obscurity, but would, regardless, leave football alone. No such luck.
Brown, and his father, Eddie Brown, purchased a majority stake in a National Arena League Football team earlier this year. The Albany Empire had a winning tradition prior to Brown, even winning the NAL Championship two years straight.
Unfortunately for the Empire, chaos doesn't produce wins and the team is struggling. A set of encyclopedias could be filled with all of the bizarre happenings since Brown took over, but one of the biggest is the complaint from coaches and players that they are not getting paid and are being treated unfairly.
After Brown fired yet another head coach, players on the team bus pushed back against his lack of leadership. That led to several players being locked out of their hotel rooms and they were refused access to their belongings. It also led to suspensions and more than one player parting ways with Albany.

Former Steelers Star Antonio Brown Is Not Making Friends In The NAL
One of those players that left was quarterback, Sam Castronova who helped Albany win a championship. Recently Castronova, who left the Empire for the Jacksonville Sharks after things fell apart, appeared on a podcast called Sideline Spectator.
During the podcast Castronova dished on Brown, calling him, "the craziest person I ever met."
"The first night of camp he came in, he was really cool. He gave us this speech, 'I'm here for you guys, I know you guys are chasing your dreams.' But nothing he ever said he backed up with actions, just all words."
He said they all should have known when the lies started about his ownership of the team. He said Brown was initially telling people he owned 95% of the team, but he did not. Castronova said that then Brown bullied the other owner out.
"Our other owner was so sick of it he sold out for a $1. There was a 5% owner and there was AB and our old owner named Mike [Kwarta] and they were 47.50% and 47.50%. He was literally blackmailing him. On his story, he put up an article of him being arrested from like 15 years ago being part of a union firebombing. He put it on his story with clown emojis, this is his other part-owner. He is literally the craziest person I have ever met."

Albany Empire
QB Sam Castronova led the Albany Empire to a championship prior to the team being owned by Brown.
Castronova said Brown would send the players nasty and aggressive text messages. He said the players were not getting paid and they were frustrated.
"A guy hurt his ankle during the game, sent him to the urgent care, $150 bill - AB's card declined."
As for the hotel lockout incident, Castronova said the team was making the long drive home after the loss in Carolina. Out of the blue, Brown called the coach and began screaming at him over the phone. This wasn't the first coach to experience this since Brown's arrival and several players were frustrated and stood up to Brown. Castronova said he chose to stay out of it, but that did not protect him from Brown's wrath.
When they got back to Albany, Castronova discovered he, along with the other captains and players who confronted Brown, were locked out of their hotel rooms and denied access to their belongings. It was at that point he decided he couldn't do it anymore.
Meanwhile, Brown was verbally abusing him as well as Castronova's father via text message. Eddie and the league commissioner were both calling him and begging him to come back. Castronova said that when he showed the commissioner the text messages he had received from Brown, he was given a release which he used to start fresh in Jacksonville.
The show hosts asked Castronova if he thought Brown was ever going to play again as he said he intended to. Castronova said he doubts it and that everything Brown does is a publicity stunt for attention. In regards to the recent Memorial Day game where he was supposed to play, he gave away at least 2,000 tickets to pack the house and make it look like better-paid attendance than it was, according to Castronova.
They also asked if it would have been cool to just be able to throw him one touchdown pass and he said he actually did.
"I did it in practice one time. He came out in those fricking big old boots he wears, live streaming - he's always live streaming everything or he has his little goonie live streaming everything. He's running in his boots and I threw him a touchdown."
Castrovona isn't the only one spitting vitriol in Brown's direction. The Empire went to play the Orlando Predators recently, but prior to the game, the two owners got nasty.
"F*ck Albany. That's all I got to say," said an irate "Crazy" John Cheney. "AB, all of them, I don't like anybody that messes with the league. This is the National Arena League, you wanna be an a**hole, go to another league."

Albany Empire
Albany Empire, the team owned by Antonio Brown, recently lost its star quarterback Sam Castronova.
Brown allegedly fired back at Cheney and called the NAL a "trash league." Apparently, karma caught up with Brown and the Predators mopped the floor with the Empire, 68-24. According to the Times Union out of Albany, the league is investigating the comments made by the two owners. Meanwhile, the rest of us can pop some popcorn and wait for the next set of fireworks.
What do you make of all of Brown's antics? Do you think he is the target of some larger conspiracy against him like he does? Or do you think he brings all of this chaos on himself? Do you think the Empire has any chance of success with him at the helm? Click to comment below!
