Big Congratulations To Steelers' Kenny Pickett As He Marries Girlfriend Amy Paternoster At A Beautiful Wedding Saturday

Pittsburgh Steelers' second-year quarterback, Kenny Pickett, is marrying his long time girlfriend in New Jersey on Saturday, Amy Paternoster. The two are both from the same hometown, but did not start dating until they reconnected over break during one of their college years. Paternoster was also a standout college athlete at Princeton University where she played soccer. 

Paternoster was given the 2021 Academic All-Ivy Award for excelling in the classroom and on the soccer field. Pickett has talked about his relationship with Paternoster in recent interviews on The Pivot Podcast as well as Footbahlin With Ben Roethlisberger. He spoke largely about how long they've known each other and what their relationship has been like. The two met when they were just 12 years old, and lived near each other while both grew up in New Jersey. They would often train for their sports at the same training facility, and Pickett discussed how he had always had a crush on her. The two got to know each other and eventually ended up dating. Former Steelers safety, Ryan Clark, asked Pickett how he decided he wanted to pop the question on The Pivot Podcast.

"It was a cliché when you know, you know moment. I just had no doubt that she's someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. Just personally, like how we connect on a personal level, she works in private equity, I think she has longer hours than I do. She's out of the house at eight and back at eight, so we just kind of connected on that level."  

It is good to know that the Steelers' quarterback is in such a good, loving relationship where they each push each other to work hard to reach their goals. Clark explained how important it is for a young player to have a steady and healthy relationship early on in their careers because it limits distractions and doesn't take the player too far away from their focus on the game.

Steelers' TJ Watt's Previous Wedding

Steelers' All-Pro outside linebacker TJ Watt also married a very successful soccer player last offseason, Dani Watt. They originally met in college at Wisconsin. They were both All-Americans in their respective sports, and Dani even played a little bit of professional soccer in Iceland. However, she recently stopped playing because the couple did not want to have to do long distance anymore which TJ discussed on Ben Roethlisberger's podcast. TJ married a standout soccer player, and now Pickett does the same.

Calvin Austin III was in attendance at the Pickett wedding and he showed his excitement for the newlyweds by posting a video of the two dancing on his Instagram story.
