Which Steelers Teammate Seriously Took Insult At Not Being Invited To Kenny Pickett's Wedding?

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Kenny Pickett and his fiancee Amy Paternoster recently tied the knot in a wedding fit for royalty. This seems appropriate given Pickett is practically (hopefully) the future King of Pittsburgh. The photographs and descriptions, which appeared in People Magazine, were droll-worthy.

The nuptials took place at the flower-laden French chateau, Pleasantdale, in their home state of New Jersey. Pickett noted that the venue gave them "fairy tale" vibes and they fell in love with it when they first saw it. They drew inspiration with how the French owner had designed and created something magical for their ceremony.

The two have known each other since Pickett was 12 and Paternoster was 10. While they went to different universities, Pickett to the University of Pittsburgh and Paternoster to Princeton University, they ran into each other during a school break in 2021 and hit it off. They said they knew right away it was meant to be and Pickett proposed in 2022.

There was no expense spared at the lavish wedding. They had artist, Cody Sabol there doing a painting of them, a mixologist who ran a 16-foot Don Julio tequila tasting bar, and even a huge Steelers ice sculpture. The food dishes were plentiful, there was a raw bar, sushi, lobster, steak, and even Ropa Vieja as a nod to Paternoster's material Cuban roots. There were also options for snacks as the party went on into the night with food trucks providing pizza, burgers and tacos.

Pickett and Paternoster said it was important to them to have everyone there with them. They feel like they have acquired so many friends over the years and wanted everyone to join in the celebration.

"We're super close with our friends who have been with us for our whole lives, so we definitely wanted everyone there to celebrate," Paternoster told People. "As we've both grown up in the sports world, especially more with Kenny with Pittsburgh and football, he's acquired great friendships along the way, as have I. It was important for us to take core people from each stage of our lives and have them there to celebrate with us."

There were teammates of Pickett's at the wedding and the ceremony was even officiated by Steelers' chaplin, Kent Chevalier. While there were about 275 people in attendance, there was one teammate who wasn't and he is a little upset that he did not get an invitation while his brother did.

Steelers' Cameron Heyward Is A Bit Salty He Wasn't Invited To Pickett's Wedding

Steelers' defensive end, Cameron Heyward hosts a podcast called, Not Just Football With Cam Heyward. Recently, he filmed an episode at a celebrity softball tournament that both he and Pickett participated in. Heyward immediately said that he had a bone to pick with Pickett.

"I really gotta grill you first because I'm kind of mad at you," says Heyward. "How did Connor [Heyward] get the invite to the wedding and I didn't?"

Pickett laughed and said that Cam knows that Connor is "his guy" and that they have been friends for years. Connor and Pickett entered the league together in 2022. Unlike his old brother, Connor is not on defense. Instead, he is a bit of a hybrid tight end/fullback. The small ways the Steelers got him involved in 2022 have fans eager to see exactly how he will be used in 2023.

"We go back to '17. I tried to get him to go to Pitt," Pickett noted.

Cam said that he can't believe it. After all, he and Pickett are locker-mates. Pickett reiterated that he and Connor just have a special connection. Cam joked that Pickett should have tried harder to get Connor, and even could have recruited other people, into trying to get to Pitt. Pickett sweared he tried everything.

Cam said that he is not letting Pickett off the hook. He showed photos and videos of extravagant wedding and reception and said that he was awed by how much food there was. He also remarked on how beautiful it looked. Pickett agreed that the wedding was amazing and they did indeed have everything.

"Back to this wedding, I'm not done with this, shrimp, oysters, it was a mean setup. I still didn't get the invite, I'm p*ssed," Cam said. "What makes it even worse is Connor invited my other brother to the wedding, Corey. They both went to the wedding and I still didn't. I'm not even my brother's first choice."

Cam is one of four Heyward sons. Their father, who has passed away, was former NFL player, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward. The boys, Craig Jr., Cameron, Corey and Connor, all played football, but only Cam and Connor made it to the NFL. Cam's co-host, Hayden Walsh, said he thinks it is a little odd that Corey went as Connor's plus one. Pickett laughed and said he didn't even realize that. He was so busy and overwhelmed that everything else was a blur.

Of course anyone is entitled to invite or not invite anyone they want to their wedding, but what do you think about Cam getting left out of the Pickett's big day? How do you think teammates should decide who to invite? Did you see the photos and videos of the wedding? What did you think? Click to comment below.
