Friday marks the second day of training camp in Latrobe for the Pittsburgh Steelers. That means the return of the "7 Shots" drill, something the team works on nearly every day. The drill is simply working on redzone efficiency for both the offense and defense. On Friday, the offense took home the win, as they won five out of the seven reps. In other words, the offense scored a touchdown on five of the plays.

Steelers running back Anthony McFarland Jr. has had an impressive start to training camp, a jumpstart to winning the No. 3 RB job.
Kenny Pickett, to nobody's surprise, led the first team out there, and they went two-for-four on their reps. While there were two incompletions, the sophomore quarterback threw touchdown passes to Allen Robinson II and Anthony McFarland Jr. Robinson's touchdown included a nice route to get open, followed up by a toe-tap in the back of the end zone. Our own, B Wall, is present for training camp and will be giving updates throughout. He provided the summary on Friday's "7 Shots" session.

McFarland Jr. headed into a camp with his eyes set on the RB3 job. While Alfonzo Graham snagged the headlines at running back just over a month ago, it's been a nice start to camp for McFarland Jr. He's the veteran of the unit, as he's set to enter his fourth season in the NFL. Despite Graham's impressive stint in Organized Team Activities (OTAs), it seems like McFarland still has a leg up on that third-string running back job.

Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky enters 2023 as the backup, a bit of a different role than he had to begin last year.
Mitch Trubisky did quite well with the second unit, as they scored on all three of their reps. Like Pickett, the veteran quarterback spread the love as well. Trubisky showed off his mobility, an aspect of his game that has always been under-appreciated; he ran one into the end zone on his first rep. Set to enter his second season in Pittsburgh, he signed a two-year extension in May.
Will Steelers Let Go Of Olszewski?
It's a bit different this year, though, as he was fighting for a starting job in 2022. Now, he's fully aware that he's the No. 2 quarterback behind Pickett. He's still performing, however, as he finished up the drill with touchdown strikes to wideouts, Gunner Olszewski and Dez Fitzpatrick. Those are two guys that will be fighting each other to make the 53-man roster in just over a month.
The top four spots are locked up at the wide receiver position, leaving one or two guys with a chance to fill out the room. Fitzpatrick had an impressive first day of camp on Thursday, and it seems like he carried that into Friday. It's interesting to see Olszewski getting involved, as he seems like a name that has been written off this offseason. He struggled as a returner in his first season in Pittsburgh, which is supposed to be where he brings the most value.

Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph had a rough start to training camp, as he threw an interception on the first day.
The former New England Patriots' All-Pro returner didn't provide much on offense either, so he will need more of these impressive plays in camp. On the flip side of the top two quarterbacks' stellar start to camp, the same can't be said for the third-string quarterback. That would be Mason Rudolph, who shockingly returned to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal.
He began his return to Latrobe by throwing an interception on Thursday. He doesn't have too much to lose though, as it seems highly unlikely that a guy like Tanner Morgan could overtake him for that No. 3 job.
