Pittsburgh Steelers training camp has been anything but boring. George Pickens has been making plenty of noise in camp and showing off everything he can do on the field. Joey Porter Jr. has been on the wrong end of some of these amazing plays that have been breaking the internet. In a post-practice interview, Porter answered a few questions about his constant battles with Pickens, and he seemed to take it very professionally. The comments he made should bring plenty of hope to the Steelers for how he will turn out for his career.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have high expectations for their second-round draft pick, Joey Porter Jr.

Porter seems like he's handling the intense battles very well, especially with the answers he gave to the media afterwards. He's prepared for more of these battles.

"Iron sharpens iron; we had a good little one-on-one. He caught some crazy stuff down there, don't know how he caught it, but it's great. We always gonna talk... but we're teammates at the end of the day. We're just working."

Porter is embracing the challenge of going up against one of the most talented receivers every day in practice, even if he does look bad after each insane Pickens play. He has no hard feelings for Pickens at all and wants him to keep playing his best against him. He was asked about keeping his cool against Pickens and he answered it by hoping for nothing but the best.

"It's not too hard (to keep cool), 'cause at the end of the day, we know we're teammates. We want the best out of each other, so we're gonna talk; we're gonna throw an extra hand in there, but it's not gonna get passed that point."

Porter understands the business of the game clearly. Even after Pickens sent him flying to the ground earlier in training camp, he has no ill will toward his teammate. As far a Porter is concerned, those were just temporary wins for Pickens, and Porter will make sure to get wins against Pickens later on.

"I'm always hungry to get better, to get my wins. He got it today. Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to get mine, and if I don't, I'm gonna keep going until I'll get mine, and that's how I roll."

Pittsburgh Steelers' George Pickens makes amazing one-handed catch.

On Tuesday, Pickens made an insane catch over Porter, which was caught by SteelerNation's own Managing Editor, Brandon Wallace. Pickens shined in training camp in 2022 with insane catch after insane catch, and even had the catch of the year in 2022 when he made a one-handed catch on the sideline against the Cleveland Browns. He showed that he still has the ability to make those catches with how he mossed Porter in training camp.

The future training camp battles between Porter and Pickens will be a spectacle to see. As Porter said earlier, iron sharpens iron, and Porter should turn out to be a much better corner from working with Pickens. With Porter also having a chip on his shoulder from being a second-round pick instead of a first-round pick, he will do everything he can to prove that he can become a top-tier cornerback in the NFL. The Steelers could have a career-long battle between the two plays throughout over a decade of future training camps.
