The Pittsburgh Steelers escaped Allegiant Stadium with a big 23-18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders to jump to 2-1 to start the season. Unfortunately for the team, their return to Pittsburgh has been delayed following an emergency landing in Kansas City because of an oil pressure failure in one of the engines that was reported by multiple Pittsburgh media outlets. According to a new report from NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, the team remains stranded until a new plane can be found.

An Airbus A330-900neo similar to the one the Steelers were supposed to be flying back to Pittsburgh in sits on the tarmac at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten posted on X early Monday morning that everyone on the plane was safe and that arrangements were being made to get all the people abroad to Pittsburgh later on Monday. ESPN had reported that the team should be back in the air on their way home to Pittsburgh at 9 a.m. CT, but as Pelissero reported the team is still awaiting a new aircraft.
Update: The #Steelers remain in Kansas City, where they have been stuck since their original flight back from Las Vegas made an emergency landing early this morning because of engine trouble. Iโm told the current hope is to have a new plane and depart around 11:30 a.m. CT. https://t.co/w3uM7RkRZD

Steelers Stay In Good Spirits Even With A Tough Start To Week 4 Preparations
Despite being dealt a tough hand on the travel home from Las Vegas on Sunday night, the team it seems remained in good spirits. Team captain Cam Heyward was also posting on X about the unfortunate event, but he was able to make light of the situation.

Heyward who remains out with a groin injury suffered in Week 1 was still traveling with the team and on the sidelines for the game. He joked first that the emergency landing was due to the "roughing the passer" penalty called on Minkah Fitzpatrick late in the game against the Raiders. He added a second post joking that Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift, who was a prominent guest at the Chiefs game on Sunday, would be able to give them a ride home.
According to ESPN, Head Coach Mike Tomlin had already given the team the day off on Monday and will have a tiny wrench thrown in their preparations for their Week 4 matchup with the Houston Texans.
