The Pittsburgh Steelers played a horrible game in Week 4 against the Houston Texans, which seemed similar to their Week 1 performance when they got blown out by the San Francisco 49ers. Only this time, it was to a much lesser opponent, that was led by a rookie quarterback in CJ Stroud, who was being protected by a depleted offensive line. To make the horrible game even worse, Steelers' Kenny Pickett sustained a knee injury in the game and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett showed improvements in Week 3, which included a deep touchdown to young wideout Calvin Austin III.

The Steelers were losing by a score of 16-0 at halftime of their Week 4 game against the Texans. The offense seemed non-existent in the first half, with Pickett throwing an interception on the first possession of the game on a deep shot to Calvin Austin III

The rest of their first half drives ended in punts. In the 30 minutes, Pickett had nine completions on 14 attempts for 35 yards and an interception. He wasn't entirely at fault, as receivers were struggling to get open against the Texans defense and Matt Canada's play-calling was predictable and terrible

The Steelers came out during the second half and scored two field goals to make the score 16-6, in favor of Houston. On their third drive, on a fourth down, Pickett was sacked and suffered a knee injury to his left leg. Pickett needed some help getting off the field after immediately clutching his knee after going down. He went to the blue medical tent, came out, and went straight to the locker room which is not a good sign.

This adds to the already long list of crucial injuries to Steelers players. Cameron Heyward and Diontae Johnson got hurt in Week 1 and won't be back for a couple of weeks, and Pat Freiermuth also suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 4 game in addition to Pickett.

Quarterback Mitch Trubisky remains a valuable part of the Steelers, as his veteran leadership is crucial for a young quarterback like Kenny Pickett.

Mitchell Trubisky is Pickett's back up, and replaced him following his injury. On Trubisky's first drive, he had just one completion in three attempts for just eight yards, and the Steelers punted the ball away. The rest of the game was pretty much controlled by Houston, as they scored two more touchdowns.

Overall, it was a disappointing week for the Steelers; they looked nowhere near prepared to play. The offensive and defensive schemes were completely horrible and the Texans looked dominant in all phases of the game. It's possible they were looking ahead to playing the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5, which is completely embarrassing.

Pittsburgh Steelers second-year quarterback, Kenny Pickett (#8) warms up prior to a 2023 training camp practice under the lights in Latrobe, PA.

Some are suspecting it is just an injury to his MCL, and hopefully that is it which would keep him out for a couple of weeks. Most are speculating that will be the case, and that no harm was done to his ACL, which is the hope. Pickett still has to go through further evaluation according to Head Coach, Mike Tomlin.

Losing Pickett for an extended amount of time will seriously hurt the Steelers, and destroy their chances of competing for the AFC North title. Trubisky has shown that he can't lead this team, as he finished the game with three completions in five attempts and didn't move the offense down the field whatsoever.

Steelers fans every where are hoping Pickett's injury is nothing serious, and that he will recover quickly. What did you think of the Steelers horrific performance in Week 4? Let us know in the comments below!
