Steelers Fans Are Ruthless At The Penguins' Season Opener As "Fire [Matt] Canada" Chants Erupt

The Pittsburgh Steelers managed to steal yet another victory against the Baltimore Ravens last week in what was another ugly win. The defensive unit looked like they practically threw this team on their shoulder to secure the win. Offensively, things did not go great and looked like another display of what has been shown all season. Now they enter their bye week at 3-2 and somehow are the first in the AFC North and third overall in the entire AFC. With the team's poor offensive display, Head Coach Mike Tomlin has promised that big changes will be coming to this organization and hopefully, that will be happening sooner rather than later.

Steelers Fans Want To See Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada Fired

The most notable and obvious change that all Steelers fans want to see Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada fired. Although recent reports indicate that he will not be removed from the team over the bye week, the future of this position still remains uncertain. With the team's offense averaging just 12.6 points per game and having borderline high school play calls, it is becoming hard to justify Tomlin and the higher-up's decision-making when it comes to keeping him in this position.

Until change is made in the organization, fans will be giving their two cents and chanting their displeasure. In Week 2, they started the chant to fire Canada during the team's win against the Cleveland Browns, and they have not stopped since. Now, these chants have made their way into the hockey world. During the Pittsburgh Penguins home opener on Tuesday night, these same chants started up again.

All though it may have created some confusion for the Canadian players on the ice, it showed the passion that Steelers fans have. It also looks like Canada may be the most hated man in the city of Pittsburgh since they were able to get these chants going at a hockey game. That is saying something because Pittsburgh Pirates fans have shown a lot of displeasure for the team's owner, Bob Nutting.

What has fans really eager to get Canada out of the offensive coordinator position is the way that last week's game ended. With quarterback Kenny Pickett calling an audible and throwing a deep pass down to George Pickens, it was definitely not something that is usually seen from this dormant offense. It seemed like something that Ben Roethlisberger would do as a veteran and take command of this offense. It showed a bit of faith in a struggling offense and what it's capable of if they can get a good offensive coordinator on the team.

So, what do you think Steeler Nation? How long do you think it will take until Canada is out of the Steelers organization? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
