It seems like the lack of acknowledgement for the talents of Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher, TJ Watt will never come to an end. The 2021 AP Defensive Player of the Year has consistently proven that he is one of the most generational talents in the NFL since he was drafted in 2017. In the same year, the Cleveland Browns were bad enough in 2016 to be awarded with the first overall pick the following year. This led to the organization drafting the physical specimen known as Myles Garrett. The two duel it out on the field twice a year, and Watt has found a way to dominate Cleveland throughout his career.

As the two franchises prepare for a crucial AFC North matchup on Sunday, media outlets are doing what they can to promote the big game. It will be broadcasted on CBS which led to the network's social media team putting something together specifically focusing on the Watt versus Garrett debate. A group of 15 individuals who work for the network were asked who they would rather have on their team over the next five seasons.

The Steelers fan base is no stranger to Watt being disrespected. It seems as if the league's fans and national media as a whole are hyper-focused on Garrett, Nick Bosa and Micah Parsons. In this little social media activity from CBS, Watt only received three total votes while Garrett got 12. In what seemed to be an attempt to be as bias as possible, a CBS employee with a Browns jacket on was even asked which player he would prefer.
In 11 total games against the Browns, Watt has managed to sack the quarterback 16 times. He has been completely overpowering in the divisional contests. In the same amount of games, Garrett has just seven sacks. When you put the two up in a head-to-head conversation, Watt blows Garrett out of the water and it's not even close. Garrett, of course, has one more instance of using a helmet as a weapon on the football field, however.

There's no doubting that Garrett is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. The issue that Steelers fans constantly have is that so many outlets will go out of their ways to disrespect him. Tony Romo recently praised Garrett on a national broadcast with absolutely no mention of Watt, who has more career tackles, sacks, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries and interceptions than the Browns' edge rusher does.
The voting on the CBS X (former known as Twitter) post started out close with three in favor of Garrett and two for Watt. Then, the final 10 were cast for Garrett while very few compliments were thrown in the direction of Watt. The Steelers faithful is likely to blow a gasket if Watt outperforms Garrett yet again in Week 11, but doesn't headline the Defensive Player of the Year conversation.
Watt is on pace to be better than his future Hall of Fame brother, JJ. The same argument could be made for Garrett, but the lack of appreciation for Watt as the media kisses the ground that Garrett walks on can be looked at as inappropriate. The video posted by CBS on Friday evening is just another example of people who talk about football not understanding the game and Watt's dominance.

Steelers Have Chance To Shut Down Theory That The Browns Are The Future Of The AFC North
Most of America will get the Steelers and Browns game on Sunday at 1:00 Eastern Time. Pittsburgh has an opportunity to sweep the season series which has been expected from the fans in Cleveland since the AFC North was formed in 2002. With a win, the Steelers will move to 7-3 and head into Thanksgiving with a playoff appearance well within reach. Keep an eye out for Watt as rookie quarterback, Dorian Thompson-Robinson could be in for a long day.
