The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered back-to-back embarrassing losses, and Steeler Nation has had it with the team and coach. There have always been fans that have questioned what Mike Tomlin has accomplished as the head coach, but after their Week 14 loss, plenty of fans jumped on the "Fire Tomlin" train. Despite that, there is still a significant group of people that think that Tomlin is still the right man to lead the franchise. Some fans are even hoping that the Steelers take the advice of their fan base so they could potentially acquire him in the offseason.

WFAN's Evan & Tiki have their own ideas about the future of Tomlin. While many Steelers fans see the end of an era, Tiki Barber and his co-host, Evan Roberts, see the beginning of a new era for another team: one of excellence and winning. Roberts went off on Steeler Nation for wanting him gone.
“Those losers in Pittsburgh are done with Mike Tomlin. They’re finished with him. They could move on from Mike Tomlin."
There's been a narrative about the anti-Tomlin crowd being spoiled for wanting more than winning seasons, and Roberts clearly agrees with them. He sees a coach that deserves so much more than the constant boo birds. In fact, he sees a team that could use a guy like Tomlin right now. The stars could be lining up for a supposed match made in heaven.
"And if they do [let Tomlin go], if the Steelers listen to their fans, I wonder. Who do you think likes Mike Tomlin... Aaron Rodgers. He loves Mike Tomlin, and guess who else likes Mike Tomlin? Me."
Aaron Rodgers has always spoken highly about Tomlin, and he loves what he does as a head coach. With the amount of power Rodgers has shown over the executive branch of the New York Jets, he could demand that the team find a way to bring Tomlin in. The Jets may be forced to pull out all the stops to snag him, but if they want him bad enough, they'll find a way.

Steelers Could Let Tomlin Go To Jets... For The Right Price
Even though Art Rooney II does not like to fire coaches, there are other options to bring Tomlin in for New York. While Barber does not see a way that Tomlin leaves Pittsburgh, Roberts is willing to give up a lot just to land a coach like Tomlin. The cost for a potential leader like him is irrelevant. The Jets need to just find a way to make it happen.
“The New York Jets would be asinine not to make that phone call. If they want my top pick, I’m actually doing it.”
Not only does Roberts think that it would be beneficial for the Jets to at least call about a potential trade, he thinks it's a terrible idea to not pursue a potential trade for Tomlin. It doesn't matter that the Jets have the sixth overall pick. You don't need a high-end prospect when you have a supposed high-end coach.

Could A Tomlin Trade Actually Be Executed?
While many fans from both teams would take this trade in a heartbeat, there's still the question of if either team would actually go through with it. Coaching trades are extremely rare, with the last two instances of coaching trades being teams acquiring the rights of a retired coach, so they could un-retire and continue their careers. There has not been a coach traded while he was active since 2006, when the Jets traded Herm Edwards to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even if the Jets decide to pull the trigger on a potential deal, Rooney may not go through with it. Dan Snyder supposedly tried to convince Rooney and the Steelers to trade Tomlin to Washington back in 2019, but no progress was made on trade talks whatsoever. If the Jets do want to make a deal, they will have to fight tooth and nail to get it done, even if they have to give up more than a top six pick.
What do you think about Evan & Tiki's thoughts on Mike Tomlin? Would you trade him? If so, how much would it cost? Let us know in the comments.
