The current season has come to an end for the Steelers and there’s a long wait until September. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing to bet on though. With eight months to go until the new NFL season's first kickoff, that means there is plenty of time to learn just how betting on American Football and other sports can be entertaining and hopefully lucrative.
The past few years have been key ones for the American gambling industry. After many years when sports betting was illegal in most states, that has all changed. A 2018 US Supreme Court Judge ruling made it possible for individual states to make the final decision whether or not sports betting should be made legal.
Over 30 US states have done so since that ruling and that includes the state of Massachusetts. That’s great news for gamblers, state coffers and NFL teams including the Steelers. Lucrative deals have been signed with betting companies helping finances and the enjoyment of games for their fans.

How to Bet on Steelers Games and More
American Football is so important for the US gambling industry. Whether it be college football or the NFL, gamblers are keen to be placing bets on the sport.
When it comes to the Super Bowl, millions of dollars will be wagered on the match. It’s noticeable that gambling revenue figures hit their peak when the NFL season is in full flow.
Backing the winner of a match is not the be all and end all of betting on the sport. When you are making that decision on which sportsbook to register with, take a good look at the number of markets that are available to place bets on.
There certainly hasn’t always been as many as there are nowadays. In other countries that had made sports betting legal, there only used to be a handful. Bets also had to be placed before a match. Live betting is only something that has been introduced to sports betting in recent years, mainly thanks to the arrival of the internet.
When you want to bet on an NFL match for example, you will find at times over 270 different markets available to bet on. The hope is that at least one of them will provide you with a profitable bet.
It’s certainly a lot more than choosing an overall winner or making a profit on the points spread. With the latter there are several for you to choose from. Then you can place a bet on 1) who might be ahead after the first quarter. 2) Who’ll score the first or last touchdown or simply bet on a player to score one anytime in the match.
You’ll notice with the betting markets that we have mentioned in the last two sentences that you’re not required to name the winner of the match. You might not be able to make that decision so look at the other markets to give yourself a chance of making a profit.
It’s the same with betting on 3) how many points will be scored in a match or 4) the number of passing yards the Steelers quarterback will record. 5) Will they make any passing touchdowns or vital interceptions.

Whatever you do when placing your bets, do some research beforehand. There are plenty of sites out there that are packed with statistics for the NFL and other sports. Many US-licensed sports betting sites themselves include an excellent statistical section.
Betting without consulting the statistics isn’t a great idea. Find out who has been scoring touchdowns or how many points the Steelers have been scoring in recent games. Ensuring you know the team news is also very important.
Is anyone out injured or someone making a comeback from injury. This information can help you decide just what bets you should be placing.
Betting on the NFL can be great fun and profitable, perhaps even if the Steelers lose. Just ensure you always gamble responsibly.
