The Pittsburgh Steelers' players spent the weekend on the couch watching the Conference Championship Games just like the majority of the other NFL players. The only players that were able to maintain their dream of hoisting a Lombardi Trophy alive were on the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions. That is except for Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney. He was on the sofa just like the rest of us and he let the world know he was not too happy about it.

Kansas City Chiefs listed wide receiver Kadarius Toney as inactive for the championship game.

On Sunday, before the games, Toney posted a video to his Instagram account saying that the Chiefs were lying about his injuries and that he was able to play. Since Toney's last dramatic event, an offsides penalty that went viral, he has only been active once since the Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. In that game, against the New England Patriots, he dropped a ball and it led to a defensive touchdown.

That is why it really wasn't a surprise when the Chiefs listed him as inactive, a healthy scratch for the Championship Game. Toney had been listed on the injury report with a hip/ankle injury recently, but for the AFC Championship Game, it was cited as "personal reasons." Those personal reasons are that Toney is a new father. His daughter was born on Saturday, the night before the game.

Steelers' Cameron Heyward Wants Kadarius Toney To Spill The Tea On His Show

Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward has invited Toney to come on his show. Heyward co-hosts a podcast called Not Just Football With Cam Heyward. The two co-hosts saw Toney and his Instagram Live and hope he will come and explain.

Steelers captain Cam Heyward co-hosts a podcast with his friend Hayden Walsh.

In the video, you can hear Toney ranting a string of curse words and insults. All this while he maintains that the team lied about his injury status and said that he was able to play.

"Y'all reading all this half**s s**t? You didn't believe it, I don't give a f**k," Toney said on an Instagram Live. "Ain't never been a n***a to do all that but man, that s**t cap. I'm not hurt. None of that s**t. Save that s**t. Suck my d**k too. I'm not hurt. None of that. It goes from hip to ankle to this to that."

Heyward and his co-host Hayden Walsh attend the Super Bowl festivities each year and interview players. Since Toney is technically a Chiefs player, Heyward thinks he could be in Las Vegas with his team for the game.

"Folks we need to get Kadarius Toney on the show and he needs to spill the beans and tell us that he's going to play in the Super Bowl and that he's gonna be on the team. Homeboy just worked his way to the Super Bowl and my a** is at home right now. Well, we were both at home and somehow he's still going to the Super Bowl. I don't know how that works. I don't understand how IG Live has become the way to share your side of the story but if KC wins Kadarius Toney is still winning," Heyward said.

While he isn't privy to the inside information, Heyward said that he feels Kansas City covered their bases by listing "personal reasons" as well. They didn't just say he was injured like Toney said.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee celebrates after a big play for the Steelers during the 2022 season

Toney has had the most disappointing season of his three-year career. He finished the 2023 season with 27 catches for only 169 yards and one touchdown. A first-round draft pick by the New York Giants in 2021, everyone expected great things from Toney. Instead, he has become like a constant blooper reel.

He did not make the splash plays that were expected and instead became known for things like throwing punches during games at then-Dallas Cowboys safety Damontae Kazee, who is now a Steeler. The Giants chose to trade him to the Chiefs for a third and a sixth-round pick; a decision they surely regret.

In Week 1, he deflected a pass instead of catching it and the Lions were able to intercept it and return it for a touchdown. The Lions won that game. Then during Week 14, the blunder during the Bills game occurred. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a pass to tight end Travis Kelce who then threw a lateral across the field to Toney. Toney was able to catch the ball, but it was called back because the wide receiver lined up in the neutral zone. It could have been one of the greatest plays of the year.

It does feel like there is a chance Toney will not be back in Kansas City in 2024. A player like that, who not only underperforms, but also makes costly errors is too costly in this game. Now, with him releasing NSFW videos where he shreds his team, his employer, in a profanity-riddled tirade, he has elevated himself to a kind of organizational cancer.

Perhaps he will be able to join Heyward and share his thoughts and help the public, as well as his team better understand where he was coming from.

What do you think, will Toney be with the team in Vegas? Should he be? What do you think went wrong with him in the transition from college to the pros? Should he go on Heyward's podcast? Would it help him to clear the air? Click to comment below.
