The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly continuing their search for more offensive coaches, and they still need to fill the vacant role left by Strength and Conditioning Coach Marcel Pastoor. Pastoor left the team last month after spending the last 23 years in the organization. While it's been a slow process, there is finally more names starting to surface.

According to Sports Illustrated, the Steelers are set to interview Boston College Strength and Conditioning Coach Phil Matusz and Atlanta Falcons assistants, Matt Baker and Mateo Kambui

Matusz is a native of Greenville, Pennsylvania, located about an hour north of Pittsburgh. Matusz comes with plenty of experience in the college ranks. After an outstanding college career, which included captaining Villanova's 2009 FCS National Championship team, he returned to the program as an intern in the strength and conditioning program. After multiple stints with Villanova, he was hired by Ohio State University. He spent six years there in multiple roles, from assistant strength and conditioning coach, to associate director of strength and conditioning.

Matusz's connection to Mike Tomlin comes from Dino Tomlin, who now plays for Matusz at Boston College after playing for Maryland. In his time with Boston College, he has overseen the physical and weight training development of four NFL Draft picks, including first-round selections Zion Johnson (2022-Chargers) and Zay Flowers (2023-Ravens).

Prior to Denver, Kambui spent one season (2020) as a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern University and one season (2019) as the running backs coach at his alma mater, Florida A&M University.

Before his coaching career, Kambui played two seasons (2014-15) at Florida A&M, appearing in 22 games at center, after playing two seasons (2012-13) at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., where he earned First Team All-Conference honors.
