The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rumored to have an interest in acquiring the quarterback Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears via a trade. It is unclear whether they will deviate from their usual approach and attempt to execute the trade, but the rumors have been persistent throughout the offseason.

Although the likelihood of the Steelers trading for Fields may appear to be slim, some pundits have expressed their belief that it is not entirely impossible. With the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Kenny Pickett's status as the future of the franchise and the need for a long-term solution at quarterback, the Steelers may consider Fields as a viable option. However, there are several factors that would need to align in order for a trade to take place.

To begin, the Steelers would need to be genuinely interested in acquiring Fields, especially considering their investment in Pickett and their desire to give him an opportunity. Additionally, they most likely, must be willing to part ways with at least a second-round draft pick in any potential trade. Nevertheless, the idea of seeing Fields don the Steelers' uniform undoubtedly captivates both fans and analysts alike.

During the St. Brown Brothers podcast on Wednesday, Fields was interviewed by his current teammate Equanimeous St. Brown and star Detroit Lions wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown. Fields was asked a range of questions regarding his upcoming offseason, why he unfollowed the Bears on Instagram, and whether he thinks he will be playing in Chicago in 2024.

The Bears will have the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and they are likely to use it to select one of the most highly regarded quarterback prospects in recent years, Caleb Williams. This leaves a question mark over what the Bears will do with their current quarterback, Fields.

Steelers' Stadium Is Justin Fields' Favorite To Play In

During the podcast, the St. Brown brothers asked Fields about his favorite away stadiums that he has played in. He mentioned Acrisure Stadium, formerly known as Heinz Field, where he played in 2021.

“Pittsburgh was lit too. Just with the Terrible Towels my rookie year.”

Fields mentioned how great the Monday night game was on the road at then-Heinz Field. The St. Brown brothers asked Fields to name his top three stadiums, and he made sure to include Pittsburgh.

“Top three in no order. Minnesota, I’ll go with the Lions, and I’ll go with Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh was lit Monday night, it was lit that night.”

Fields has recently expressed his desire to remain with the Bears for the foreseeable future. Mentioning how much deep-rooted love he has for the fans and the city of Chicago. However, he is well aware that the NFL is a business first, and that his future with the Bears could be uncertain and out of his control.

Most seem to believe that the Bears will use their first overall pick in the 2024 draft to select Williams, which would most likely open up opportunities for Fields to play for another team in 2024. Nevertheless, Fields has no control over this decision, and the Bears will most likely choose to trade Fields to another team.

The Steelers are a potential destination for Fields, although opinions among fans are divided. Some fans are excited about the prospect of Fields joining their team, citing his outstanding potential, impressive college career, and his insane athletic abilities.

Others are more cautious, having witnessed his past few seasons in the NFL and expressing concerns about his consistency and ability to perform under pressure, especially as a passer. Ultimately, the future of Fields in the NFL remains uncertain, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing in 2024.

If a new quarterback were to come to Pittsburgh, such as Fields, the city would undoubtedly be filled with excitement. However, it seems that the Steelers are content with giving Pickett another season to prove himself as the team's franchise quarterback.
