The Pittsburgh Steelers had a clear plan for the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Troy Fautanu out of the University of Washington was ranked by some as a top 10 prospect and found his way down the board in round one. That left General Manager Omar Khan with no other choice but to select him with the 20th overall pick. It wasn't a sexy pick, but a necessary one. Now, the organization has complete the revamp of the offensive line and welcomed a new name to the Steel City with the selection of Zach Frazier out of West Virginia University.

The Steelers are taking West Virginia C Zach Frazier.

Frazier played in 47 games for West Virginia and was highly-regarded as one of the top three center prospects in the 2024 draft class. Some even had him at the top of their boards when it comes to the position. The fact that Khan and co. didn't have to trade up in any fashion for a guy who some see as a future All-Pro is a testament to Khan's patience.
The new-look offensive line could now feature a starting five of James Daniels, Isaac Seumalo, Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier. Including Dan Moore Jr. in that discussion as a swing tackle and sixth guy is extremely fascinating. The depth is now there, and the Steelers can focus on the wide receiver and cornerback positions for the rest of day two, with a defensive lineman or linebacker potentially sneaking in as a "surprise" pick.

The back-to-back picks on the offensive line prove that Pittsburgh has a simple goal in mind when it comes to Arthur Smith's offense. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren are probably smiling from ear to ear.
You think the Steelers want to run the ball?

Khan has struck again, but without doing anything aggressive. The Steelers needed an offensive tackle and center. The organization made it a priority, and now, the offensive line can be considered to be revamped, without even seeing two of the newcomers play a professional snap.

Steelers Looking To Finally Replace Maurkice Pouncey As Leader On Offensive Line
Maurkice Pouncey will certainly be a Hall of Fame candidate one day. It's up for debate whether he will wear a gold jacket one day, but overall, the selection of Kendrick Green and signing of Mason Cole were utter failures. Frazier will be a plug-and-play guy and no matter what the organization says, he should already be expected to snap the ball to Russell Wilson once the 2024 NFL season kicks offs.
