The Pittsburgh Steelers had a much-anticipated matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. It was expected to be a defensive showdown, as both units have been some of the best in the league. Each side suffered some injuries to their defenders early on, as Los Angeles saw Joey Bosa go down early and Pittsburgh's Cory Trice Jr. went down with a hamstring injury.

Trice missed the entirety of his rookie season in 2023 due to a knee injury that he suffered in training camp. His debut in 2024 was much anticipated, and he made an impact early. He had a crucial interception in the Steelers' Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos. It was reported early on in the first quarter that Trice would be doubtful to return due to his hamstring injury.

This is bad news for Pittsburgh, as their depth at corner back is already extremely slim. Darius Rush was deemed a healthy inactive prior to kickoff, so behind Trice at corner is newly signed defensive back James Pierre. The Steelers are already facing a decent amount of adversity in the 2024 season thanks to injuries, which have already been tearing apart the offensive line.
