Pittsburgh Steelers legendary quarterback, Terry Bradshaw often finds himself making headlines for various reasons. Sometimes he’s in the spotlight for saying something wild and outlandish, and other times it's due to an awkward exchange. Recently, while breaking down the Detroit Lions' dominant victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bradshaw seemed to take a subtle jab at Rob Gronkowski.

During the segment, Gronkowski was discussing the importance of not playing down to the competition when Bradshaw interrupted him, mentioning that he was filling in for Jimmy Johnson. The issue with this comment, however, was that Gronkowski had been part of the show for the entire time. It was an awkward moment that left viewers confused and puzzled.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their reactions, pointing out the slip-up and questioning Bradshaw's intentions. While some found it humorous, others felt it was an unnecessary jab at Gronkowski, adding yet another memorable, if cringeworthy, moment to Bradshaw's long career in the spotlight.
"The guy whose seat you're sitting in right now, filling in while he's on vacation, Jimmy Johnson..." Bradshaw said before he was cut off and corrected.
Host Curt Menefee quickly clarified that Gronkowski isn’t a fill-in and is a regular on the show. Meanwhile, Gronkowski’s reaction spoke volumes—he appeared visibly disappointed when Bradshaw made the remark.

Up & Adams

He pushed back on the comment, clearly feeling disrespected by the unexpected jab.
"I'm part of the show Terry, ok," Gronkowski said. "Where are you going with that?"
After the panel stepped in to defend Gronkowski, they all turned to Bradshaw and asked him to clarify his point. Bradshaw tried to explain himself, suggesting that his comment was meant as a compliment to Gronkowski’s analytical skills. However, it quickly became clear that he had misspoken, and his explanation was an attempt to smooth over the uncomfortable moment.
"Okay, I made a mistake," Bradshaw admitted. "All right, all right, I apologize. Gronk, you know I love you. My point is, Jimmy had the same approach."
Bradshaw, 76, has been known to occasionally let his age affect his analytical skills, but it’s also his lack of a filter that often lands him in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. He frequently finds himself at the center of strange headlines, and this isn't the first time his comments have raised eyebrows.

Earlier in the 2024 season, Bradshaw made an uncomfortable remark about how he hadn’t been this excited for something since his aunt taught him how to play spin the bottle, a comment that left many viewers uneasy.

While this latest mistake isn't the worst thing he's said, it was still rude to Gronkowski, who works hard to be a major presence for NFL fans on Sundays. The incident has once again sparked calls from fans for Bradshaw to consider retiring. However, it's unlikely that will happen anytime soon. Bradshaw loves his job and remains passionate about discussing football. He’s not going anywhere unless he’s forced out or fired.
