The Pittsburgh Steelers lost 24-19 to the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. It was a disappointing effort, and they found themselves down early, struggling to keep pace with the Browns. The defense couldn’t stop Cleveland’s offensive flow, and Pittsburgh’s offense seemed sluggish as they trailed for most of the game. However, things took a turn when backup quarterback Justin Fields entered the game to run some special packages.

Fields’ game-changing 30-yard run ignited the Steelers' offense and gave them a much-needed spark. The run was a critical moment, and it seemed to energize the team. With help from Fields' explosive play, the Steelers managed to take the lead, 19-18, with just a few minutes left in the game. The momentum shift had the Pittsburgh sideline buzzing, and it appeared they were on the verge of an incredible comeback victory.

Unfortunately, the Steelers couldn’t hold their lead, and the Browns capitalized on a late drive to secure the win. After the game, Fields spoke with ESPN’s Brooke Pryor about his run, reflecting on the energy it brought to the team. Despite the loss, Fields’ performance showed he could provide a spark when needed, leaving fans wondering what more he could bring to Pittsburgh's offense moving forward.

"I should have scored," Fields said. "I'm sick, but I just got to make sure I'm warm on the sideline at all times. I kind of felt stiff on that one. On the second one, I felt a little bit looser."

Fields admitted he was disappointed that he didn’t score on the run. For a brief moment, it seemed like he had a clear path to the end zone, but he was eventually stopped. He also admitted that he made a bit of a mistake being not warmed up.

Fields believes if he would have stayed warm on the sideline he may have been able to score. It was asking a lot of Fields to come in and make an impact. Especially in the adverse weather conditions. Fields did a great job sparking the offense.

Steelers' Justin Fields Proved He Can Make A Big Impact

Regardless, the Steelers capitalized on the play and scored a touchdown, and that spark clearly gave Pittsburgh some momentum. Heading into the game, many expected Fields to have a bigger role, and his brief but impactful appearance showed he could make a difference when called upon.

In Week 11, New Orleans Saints utility player Taysom Hill had a standout performance against the Browns, and Fields had the potential to make a similar impact. While his game was limited to a handful of run plays and a low-percentage pass attempt, it was still encouraging to see him contribute. It's difficult to fully evaluate his performance based on such limited opportunities, but it’s clear that he brought a dynamic element to the offense.

While it’s still early to judge his full impact, his role in the Week 12 game provided a glimpse of the possibilities moving forward.
