The Pittsburgh Steelers have started to really make some noise in the league following a big-time Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns. Moving to an impressive 10-3 on the season, the Steelers have silenced critics who doubted Mike Tomlin’s leadership and Russell Wilson’s fit at quarterback.

With the team firing on all cylinders, the buzz surrounding Pittsburgh’s playoff chances has hit a high. Even before Sunday’s NFL action, Charles Woodson added fuel to the hype, making bold statements about the Steelers’ potential.

Woodson, a Hall of Fame defensive back and NFL analyst, didn’t hold back his words when discussing Pittsburgh's chances. He emphatically declared that the Steelers deserve to be in the Super Bowl conversation, going as far as to call them legitimate favorites. While oddsmakers haven’t fully caught up to the team’s dominance, Woodson’s assessment reflects the Steelers’ balance on both sides of the ball. Their defensive prowess, coupled with an increasingly efficient offense led by Wilson, gives them a dangerous edge in a competitive AFC.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers and Super Bowl," Woodson said. "I don't think those two entities are talked in the same sentence enough and this team really has a chance to be one of those teams that make it to the Super Bowl."
Woodson pointed out the Steelers' resilience and ability to deliver in critical moments as reasons for his confidence. He highlighted their signature physicality and veteran leadership as key traits of championship-caliber teams.

With Tomlin’s proven ability to rally his squad and Wilson’s experience in high-pressure situations, Woodson believes Pittsburgh has what it takes to go all the way. The Steelers might not have the flashiest odds right now, but as Woodson sees it, this team is built for a deep postseason run.
Steelers Have A Real Path To The Super Bowl
For the Steelers to reach the Super Bowl, they’ll likely have to face off against some of the AFC’s toughest contenders. While the Kansas City Chiefs have found ways to win, they’ve shown vulnerabilities this season.
The Buffalo Bills, led by an MVP-caliber Josh Allen, remain a formidable force, but Woodson believes the Steelers can overcome them. Whether it’s in a high-scoring shootout or a gritty, defensive battle, Woodson sees Pittsburgh having the edge over Buffalo in any scenario.

The Baltimore Ravens are another team many consider legitimate Super Bowl threats. However, Woodson pointed to the Steelers' recent dominance over the Ravens, especially against Lamar Jackson, as a reason why Pittsburgh would have the upper hand in a postseason matchup.
With the season entering a crucial stretch, the 10-3 Steelers are focused on securing their playoff positioning. Their path to the Super Bowl remains uncertain, but according to Woodson, that doesn’t matter. He’s confident the Steelers have the right mix of talent and toughness to capture their seventh Super Bowl title this season.
