The Pittsburgh Steelers have been able to slow down Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson as of late. Jackson has struggled significantly against Pittsburgh, posting a 2-5 record with just five touchdown passes, eight interceptions, a 57% completion rate, and 22 sacks. The Steelers' defense has consistently found ways to neutralize the two-time NFL MVP, making life difficult for him every time they meet. Their ability to contain Jackson has been a key factor in maintaining the intense AFC North rivalry.

However, as the Steelers prepare for a crucial "t-shirt and hat" game against the Ravens on Saturday, Jackson seems determined to rewrite the narrative. This matchup not only holds playoff implications but also serves as an opportunity for Jackson to silence his critics. Ravens insider Rob Long suggests that Jackson is fed up with the chatter that the Steelers have his number, and he's eager to change the storyline. According to Long, Jackson is motivated to deliver a statement performance that could crush Pittsburgh’s AFC North hopes.

For the Steelers, containing Jackson will once again hinge on their defensive discipline and ability to capitalize on his mistakes. But this time, they’ll face a quarterback fueled by frustration and a desire for revenge. If Jackson manages to break free of Pittsburgh's defensive stranglehold, it could mark a turning point in their rivalry and a major boost for the Ravens’ playoff aspirations. Saturday’s showdown promises to be a battle of wills, with everything on the line.

"You know I am glad you brought this up because I brought this up on the show today," Long said. "I remember as a teenager Michael Jordan was torching everybody in the NBA and folks started saying Craig Ehlo was the Jordan stopper and Jordan got tired of that. He torched Ehlo including the game-winner at the end."

Long drew a comparison to one of the greatest athletes of all time, Michael Jordan, recalling how Jordan once faced criticism over Craig Ehlo's supposed ability to shut him down.

Jordan silenced that narrative with a dominant performance that left no doubt about his greatness. Long believes Jackson is poised to do something similar on Saturday, using the noise surrounding his struggles against the Steelers as fuel for a statement game.

"I think Lamar Jackson is tired of hearing about the Pittsburgh Steelers being the Lamar stopper and I think he is going to address that this Saturday," Long said. "I do I just think this guy is different. He is a generational talent and he is a guy that is an ultra competitor who wants to own everybody he plays against."

This is a bold statement from Long, and he might be onto something. Jackson is clearly tired of the chatter and, as an ultra-competitive athlete, is eager to change the narrative that the Steelers are his kryptonite. Of course, his path to redemption could be much smoother if TJ Watt is sidelined. Watt, who was injured late in the Steelers’ 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, has his status up in the air—but signs are pointing toward him suiting up on Saturday.

Steelers' Defense Looking To Shut Down Ravens' Lamar Jackson Once Again

If Watt does play, Jackson will face a much tougher challenge in breaking free from the Steelers’ stranglehold. The Steelers’ defense will also be highly motivated to maintain their dominance and keep the narrative in their favor. With the division title on the line, both sides are laser-focused on delivering a season-defining performance.

A win for Pittsburgh would secure the AFC North crown, but a loss could ignite panic in Steeler Nation, especially if it marks back-to-back defeats. This matchup isn’t just about the standings—it’s about control, pride, and rewriting the storylines that have shaped this heated rivalry.
