The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered yet another heartbreaking postseason loss on Saturday night, which extends the streak to eight straight seasons without a playoff victory. The Steelers have lost six consecutive playoff games, which ties an active streak with the Miami Dolphins, who have not won in the postseason since 2000. The Steelers have been the poster child for mediocrity in the NFL, and it's hard to say the organization doesn't need to make serious changes during the 2025 offseason.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin looks on during a Week 13 victory in the 2024 regular season.
Pittsburgh has been dragged through the mud since losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night, particularly Head Coach Mike Tomlin. Much of the fan base is calling for his job, as he hasn't been able to produce any postseason results since the 2016 season.
It has already been reported that the organization doesn't seem to be making any changes regarding Tomlin, but even Colin Cowherd believes something needs to be done. He spoke on The Colin Cowherd Podcast about the loss to Baltimore, and he didn't hold anything back.
"I thought they'd hang around in this game without Zay Flowers." Cowherd said. "Baltimore decided to just run 15 straight times against Pittsburgh over the course of the first half. The Steelers offense has been really lifeless since George Pickens got hurt. He came back and made some big catches, he's a tremendous talent. It ended with about 300 rushing yards for the Ravens and 29 for the Steelers. Pittsburgh can't even run the ball anymore? They can't run it. They got pushed around."
Baltimore's offense wasn't even at full force and the Steelers still got destroyed and struggle to get them off the field. The Ravens were missing their best receiver in Zay Flowers, but the group was able to destroy Pittsburgh in the running game. It was truly an embarrassing showing for the Steelers and the highest-paid defense in the NFL, which failed to show up yet again.

The Steelers seem stale. That is probably the best way to describe them, at least offensively. The offensive group in Pittsburgh looks like it is behind the rest of the league. Tomlin still wants his team to be able to run the football and be stout defensively, when neither of those philosophies have been working. Pittsburgh gave up 299 rushing yards, while rushing for just 29 themselves. Cowherd spoke more about the Steelers after the loss.
"They're not innovative." Cowherd said. "What are they? It's time for the Steelers to change direction with their coaching staff, this is not good enough."
Pittsburgh is stuck in its place, and Cowherd recognizes that. He seems to be calling for Tomlin's job, as is most of the fan base. It seems like a massive overhaul of the coaching staff is the only option for Pittsburgh. The organization had an extremely aggressive offseason in 2024, and has had two consecutive draft classes that have produced some high-level talent. Tomlin has had plenty of tools over the last eight years, and he just hasn't been able to get the job done, which is not good enough.

Steelers Are In An Embarrassing Class Of The NFL
Over the last month of the regular season, the Steelers failed to win a game. Their losing streak extended to five with the playoff loss, and they join the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns as the only teams to not win a game over the last month of the season. The big difference is that the Titans and Browns are picking first and second in the 2025 NFL Draft, respectively.
The Steelers have always been just good enough to miss out on having a quality draft pick, while never being good enough to make a deep playoff run. That has at least been the case over the last eight seasons. It is a disgusting area of purgatory Pittsburgh finds itself in, and something needs to change.
