The Pittsburgh Steelers have left the fan base fairly frustrated throughout free agency as there are still several questions surrounding the starting quarterback position in the Steel City. The franchise has been in the mix for Aaron Rodgers, but the veteran is taking his time making a decision on what he wants to do with his future.

The fan base in Pittsburgh has been growing increasingly impatient as the franchise continues to wait for the former MVP to make a decision, but the saga seems to be hopefully coming to an end. Rodgers has been reported to be in the team's facility on Friday, which means a deal could be imminent.

Rodgers has been deciding between signing with the Steelers or the New York Giants. Retirement has also been an option, and the Minnesota Vikings were rumored to be in the mix for a little while as well. It seems the whole fiasco is coming to a close, and the organization is close to getting Rodgers to sign on to be the starter in 2025.

Rodgers had a somewhat rough season with the New York Jets in 2024, but he was coming off of a serious Achilles injury while dealing with a lot on unrest within the organization. Neither or those things should be issues in Pittsburgh, so the quarterback is expected to have a decent season. He spent the day on Friday meeting with coaches and other members of the organization in Pittsburgh. The veteran has not visited anywhere else, which shows he is serious about joining the Steelers.

No deal is done for the veteran quarterback, but his visit is a sign that one could be coming. Rodgers is certainly the best option available for Pittsburgh on the open market, so signing the quarterback would give the organization the best chance of competing in 2025.

Steelers Could Have Best Quarterback Play In Years
Rodgers had a down year in 2024, but the quarterback still produced quite a bit, especially towards the end of the season. He threw for 28 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions while throwing for nearly 4,000 yards. These numbers would be the best numbers from the position in Pittsburgh since Ben Roethlisberger was still in his prime, which should keep the fan base fairly optimistic. Hopefully the organization can get a deal done in the near future, that way there is some clarity on what the team will look like in 2025.
