According to Ricky Sayer of KDKA News, Bradshaw, known for his calm demeanor both on and off the field, took matters into his own hands. While others might have panicked, Bradshaw’s quick thinking and actions helped to resolve the situation.

Bradshaw was credited with helping to get the door unstuck, and soon after, the pilot announced the door was finally open. This unexpected heroic act showcased Bradshaw’s leadership and willingness to help others, adding another memorable moment to his legacy.

"The pilot announced and you could kind of hear he was chuckling as he said it, but he said 'thanks to the strength of one of our passengers, we were finally able to get the door open' and I think we all knew he was alluding to Mr. Bradshaw," said traveler Selah Gamble.

According to the report, Bradshaw was seated in the front row of a plane flying in from Dallas-Fort Worth. He was heading to Pittsburgh to attend his former teammate Mel Blount’s celebrity roast on Friday night. 

The event is especially significant as it marked the 50th anniversary of Bradshaw leading the Steelers to their first Super Bowl victory, adding an extra layer of importance to his trip.

"I mean honestly I was just ready to get off the flight, but the guy next to me had made the joke that they should have him bust down the door and I was like, well maybe he could a few years ago, so I'm definitely eating my words," Gamble said.
