The Pittsburgh Steelers do not have a second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft because of the team's blockbuster trade to land DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks. The organization is currently looking at the receiver as the 52nd overall pick, which was very clear when he was acquired and paid a hefty contract extension. Many believe that General Manager Omar Khan could attempt to trade back in Round 1 to get more capital, but there also have been murmurs of George Pickens being available for the right price. It could be an extremely busy weekend for the front office and the team's fan base.

With rumors swirling throughout the NFL, no one ever truly knows what is going to happen until it actually does. It should be an exciting couple of days for fans everywhere, but Khan will be a busy man. He could hypothetically be very active when it comes to trading, and there are a few franchises and general managers that could potentially be in constant communication with Khan.

1.) Jerry Jones - Dallas Cowboys

There have already been some hints from Dallas Cowboys Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones about him planning on a couple of big trades in the coming days. With the 12th overall pick, many are expecting the organization to go after an offensive play-maker. A running back or wide receiver could be on the table, but it's also possible that Jones goes in a completely different direction if he has plans later in the draft.

Khan and Jones could possibly make something work when it comes to the 44th overall selection that comes in Round 2. If Pickens is truly available and Jones decides to look over a pass-catcher in the first round, a trade including the fourth-year wide receiver could be realistic. It all depends on how the board falls, but Jones and the Cowboys are certainly an interesting team to keep an eye on.

2.) Joe Schoen - New York Giants

It is pretty much do or die time for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll with the New York Giants. The duo probably has one season to figure it out or they both will be looking for new jobs. With a plethora of selections to make, it's very possible that they will attempt to get back in Round 1 for a quarterback. Depending on how the Steelers are feeling about what prospects are available, a move back from 21st to 34th could be extremely attractive idea to play around with.

Having five picks on the first two days will be a good amount of capital to consider trading if the proper situation presents itself. Pittsburgh could be okay with a move back, and out of the first round, if New York is willing to pay a steep price. This would ruin Steelers fans' Thursday evening, but may be better overall when it comes to the long-term.

3.) Brian Gutekunst - Green Bay Packers

There will be plenty of speculation when it comes to Pickens throughout the first couple days of the draft. The Green Bay Packers desperately need help at the wide receiver position and are only picking two spots behind Pittsburgh. If Khan and co. want to slide back into Round 2 and right around their original pick at 52, the 54th overall selection could be for the taking in a Pickens deal.

There will continue to be murmurs surrounding Pickens and if the Steelers can get a second-round pick for him in 2025, it would trump any hypothetical third-round compensatory pick that wouldn't even be awarded until 2027. If Khan probably has an idea of what he wants to do with the wide receiver, General Manager Brian Gutekunst in Green Bay could be waiting for a phone call.

Steelers Have A Couple Other Potential Trade-Back Partners

Pittsburgh would rather do business with a team that plays in the NFC, so some other organizations to keep an eye on are the Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders. It does take two to tango and the price has to be right, but Khan could absolutely be involved in one or more trades throughout draft weekend. A move back in Round 1 is on the table, as is moving on from Pickens to get back into the second round.
