The Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation has been a bit worrisome leading up to the Week 12 contest against the Chicago Bears. Coming off a Week 11 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers must now decide who their starting signal-caller will be on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers has always had a special connection with the Bears, having spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and often referring to himself as the "owner" of the team due to his dominance over them throughout his career.

That history adds an intriguing subplot to this matchup, as Rodgers now has the opportunity to help the Steelers defeat the team he spent nearly two decades facing with unparalleled success. Steelers fans will be watching closely to see if he can bring that same level of command and confidence to Pittsburgh’s offense.

However, there are concerns about Rodgers’ ability to play at full strength. He missed the second half of the Week 11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals due to an injured left wrist, raising questions about his availability for Sunday’s game at Soldier Field. The injury has created uncertainty in the Steelers’ quarterback room, as the team prepares to face a Bears defense that will be eager to test him and limit his impact. The timing of the injury is particularly challenging given the significance of the matchup and Rodgers’ personal motivation against his former team.

On Wednesday, Rodgers addressed the media in Pittsburgh about his injury and provided some insight into his current condition. While he acknowledged the wrist has been bothering him, he indicated that it is feeling better and suggested he is optimistic about being able to practice and potentially play on Sunday.

"Eh, a lot of rehab," Rodgers said to the Pittsburgh media on Wednesday. "I am just thankful to get today to work and just focus on rehab for a day. I am gonna try to get back on the field tomorrow and we will see what happens."

The comments offered some reassurance to Steelers fans, but the team will still need to monitor his progress closely throughout the week.

The decision on whether Rodgers plays may ultimately depend on how much he can push through the injury without compromising his effectiveness, making this one of the more closely watched quarterback situations of the season.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Won't Miss Time For Pain

When Rodgers was speaking to the media, he was asked whether he had found a brace to possibly play through the injury on his non-throwing hand. Rodgers was direct, but reserved, noting that he and the team are currently working through that issue. He was also asked if the pain could keep him out of the game, and he made sure to answer that it definitely would not.

"No, it would be a safety thing," Rodgers said.

Rodgers wanted to make it clear that he isn’t worried about any type of pain. His approach is more about safety and an abundance of caution for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers’ brass.

In fact, Rodgers actually wanted to come back in during the second half against the Bengals, but the team wouldn’t allow it. That was the safety measure he was alluding to. So, it seems that while pain likely won’t keep Rodgers out, making the wise decision for his long-term health might.

Given the current reports on Aaron Rodgers’ health, do you believe he should take the field in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears even if he isn’t fully 100% healthy? What factors do you think should influence that decision, and why do you feel that way? Let us know in the comments below!
