The Pittsburgh Steelers got a big win on Monday Night Football as the team took down the Miami Dolphins at home by a score of 28-15. The victory puts Pittsburgh at 8-6 on the season as the franchise was able to stay on top of the AFC North. Every game at this stage of the 2025 campaign is meaningful as playoff implications are packed into each matchup, so fans of the Black and Gold have to be feeling good about the team after a rough string of games in the middle of the season. Pittsburgh needs to focus on winning games and staying healthy, and health is something the team desperately needs.

Steelers offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo walks on the field at St. Vincent College as the team works out during a 2023 training camp practice at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
A key piece of Pittsburgh's offensive line is left guard Isaac Seumalo. He is the oldest player on the team's starting offensive line, and his veteran leadership is pivotal for the younger group. In addition to his leadership, he always provides solid and consistent play, but Pittsburgh lost Seumalo in the middle of Monday night's matchup with the Dolphins. It is said to be a triceps injury and the severity is unknown, but Head Coach Mike Tomlin gave an update on his lineman to the media after the win.
"Couple of injuries," Tomlin began. "Isaac Seumalo has got a triceps injury that's being evaluated. Nick Herbig's got a hamstring that's being evaluated."
The importance of Seumalo cannot be overstated, and being without him for games throughout the rest of the 2025 would be detrimental to the offense. Without him at left guard, Pittsburgh inserted Spencer Anderson, and Ryan McCollum even got some snaps at the position as well. The shakeup on the offensive line could also affect Pittsburgh's "heavy" package which is often used to solidify the run game. It features Anderson as a sixth offensive lineman, but if he has to move to left guard, that could complicate things.

Steelers' Nick Herbig celebrates after a big play during a win over the Dolphins at home in the 2025 season.
Tomlin also noted that standout outside linebacker Nick Herbig went down with a hamstring injury during the game. The young player has had issues with soft tissue injuries in the past, so this is not good to hear going into the most important part of the season. Hopefully both he and Seumalo can return soon, especially with depth questions coming at both positions.
Pittsburgh is already down TJ Watt at outside linebacker after his fluke incident at the facility that left him with a collapsed lung. That means Pittsburgh could be giving rookie Jack Sawyer his first start when the team travels to play the Detroit Lions in Week 16. Updates on both Herbig and Seumalo's health should come in the next few days which will provide more clarity on their statuses for next week.

Steelers Need Defense At Full Strength In Week 16
While the win over Miami is nice, the Steelers have a daunting matchup in Week 16. Detroit has a potent offense that can explode for 40 points at any moment, which makes potentially missing both Watt and Herbig rough for Pittsburgh. The defense needs to be at full strength to take down the Lions and contain that offense, so hopefully good news is coming on the injury front for the franchise.
