Rumor: Kyler Murray Supposedly Is Now Deciding Between Steelers And Vikings

The Pittsburgh Steelers fans have gotten quite familiar with this mystery NFL insider who has a profile of a dog as his profile picture on X. At first it seemed like this was just another burner account pretending to be an insider, but after three seasons of calling shots dead right, while also missing on a couple, @RickeyScoops has turned the NFL world on its head with his tweets. Every time he posts, it feels like more people start paying attention, and his track record has slowly forced fans and media alike to take notice.

While plenty of anonymous accounts claim to have league sources, very few have managed to build the kind of credibility RickeyScoops has developed over time. Several of his past posts have lined up with real NFL moves, which has only fueled curiosity about who might actually be behind the account. Even with the occasional miss, his growing list of correct predictions has made it harder and harder to dismiss him as just another online rumor account.

Well, on Tuesday night, the Steelers faithful got another intriguing update when Mr. Scoops posted that Kyler Murray is currently deciding between Pittsburgh and the Minnesota Vikings. If the claim turns out to be accurate, it would immediately become one of the most fascinating quarterback developments involving the Steelers this offseason. For now, fans are once again left watching the mysterious insider’s timeline, wondering if another one of his surprising calls is about to come true.

Of course the biggest news depends on what is going to happen with Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers’ former Head Coach, Mike Tomlin, really wanted Rodgers in the Steel City for the 2025 season. He got Rodgers, and the move helped the team to a 10-7 record and an AFC North title. However, the Steelers were blown out by 24 points in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Tomlin decided to walk away after the 2025 season ended at the age of 53, and now Mike McCarthy is taking over the team.

Of course, the biggest news at quarterback still revolves around Rodgers and what he plans to do next. Steelers fans have heard all sorts of rumors: he is not coming back, he is coming back, he is definitely coming back, maybe he is retiring, or maybe he is headed to the Vikings. 

Steelers' Omar Khan Speaks On Aaron Rodgers

Steelers GM Omar Khan made it clear he did not expect Rodgers’ decision to drag out as long as it did in the 2025 offseason. The jury is still out on what Rodgers actually wants, but if the Steelers are poking around about Murray, that could be somewhat telling.

The Vikings make a lot of sense for Murray. They have a solid roster and one of the most talented wide receivers in the game in Justin Jefferson. The Steelers, however, traded to land Michael Pittman Jr., which also makes them an intriguing option. On paper, it seems like the Vikings would be the top choice for Murray, but in the NFL you never know. Of course, all of this is contingent on Mr. Scoops getting another one right, and he has been on fire as of late. 

Steeler Nation is certainly taking notice of the latest happenings around the QB market and the free agency market. The NFL new league year begins on Wednesday and all eyes will be on Murray.
