The Pittsburgh Steelers have the entire football world wondering what they are going to do with their 12 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. With all the attention on the city of Pittsburgh and this new era of Steelers football under Head Coach Mike McCarthy, fans are eager to see it all get underway.

That new era truly began during the 2026 free agency period when the new league year kicked off. McCarthy and GM Omar Khan got to work right away, finding creative ways to improve the roster. Now, with the draft inching closer, Steeler Nation has its eyes glued to the Top 30 visits and what they could mean for the team. With a rare abundance of draft capital, the Steelers and their fans know they cannot afford to waste this opportunity. The 2022 NFL Draft still leaves a sour taste in the mouths of many Steelers fans, as it was the final draft before Khan took over as general manager.
Many have been curious about Khan’s status as a good or great GM. It is no secret he is solid, but to reach the next level he will eventually need to find a franchise quarterback. Until then, the Steelers have plenty of draft capital and are expected to stay aggressive and creative. One position already being strongly linked to Pittsburgh is cornerback, and on Monday, Florida prospect Devin Moore confirmed via SI he had an interview with the Steelers.
"I’ve probably met with all 32 teams in some capacity at this point. I’ve had formal and informal interviews [at the NFL Combine]. I’ve been on numerous Zoom calls," Moore said while speaking via NFL Draft on SI.
At first, Moore’s comments could be interpreted as him simply saying he met with every team in some way, shape, or form.

However, what stood out was that he specifically mentioned the Steelers, along with a select few other teams. That detail could be viewed as a subtle hint or notable emphasis.
"I met with the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons in person," Moore said. "I just got back from Atlanta recently [Top 30 visit]. I met with the Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Steelers, to name a few others. Some of those were at the NFL Combine, others were in-person visits."
This is interesting because Khan has shown a tendency to draft bigger cornerbacks in the past. While it is not particularly surprising that the Steelers hosted a cornerback or conducted an interview in any capacity, the more telling detail is Moore’s size profile. At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he would be considered a massive cornerback by NFL standards, ranking in the 98th percentile for height at his position.
That matters for Khan because he has a clear history of valuing length and size at cornerback. Moore fits that mold, and combined with his mention of the Steelers and Pittsburgh’s substantial draft capital, it becomes a situation worth monitoring closely. Projected as a third- or fourth-round pick at the earliest, he could emerge as a potential value target for Khan and McCarthy if he begins to slip on draft boards.
Steelers' Omar Khan Has A Type At Defensive Back
The cornerback run in this class is expected to be particularly interesting. While the Steelers are currently set with Joey Porter Jr., Jamel Dean, and Asante Samuel Jr., depth behind those three remains a concern. That is where a player like Moore could make sense if Pittsburgh believes it can get a steal.

Porter is also a bigger cornerback at 6-foot-2, while Cory Trice Jr. and Ryan Watts both measured at 6-foot-3. In that sense, Moore fits the established Khan profile of targeting longer, more physical cornerbacks with strong developmental upside later in the draft.
