For the 2020 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a few changes; starting with a couple of replacements for their defensive lineup.

Defensive lineman, Tyson Alualu, will be replacing, Javon Hargrave, at nose tackle.

This didn't come as a surprise, as head coach, Mike Tomlin, had already commented on this situation earlier in the off-season.

"We are still determining those things." Tomlin said. "With the lack of opportunity for learning in the off-season and teaching, we are acknowledging as a staff that we have to make some quick decisions and then kind of roll from there. I have talked to Matt Feiler. Matt Feiler is probably going to take the first snap at left guard and Ty is probably going to take the first snap at nose guard, and we will work from there."

The other change coming to the defensive lineup will be inside linebacker, Vince Williams, will once again be starting, replacing Mark Barron.

The Steelers' defensive coordinator, Keith Butler, commented on Williams undoubted ability to be in the starting lineup.

“He’s a great communicator,” Butler said. “As we went back and looked at our film and graded ourselves, we felt like our communication, if anything went wrong with our defense, it was more because of our communication. Sometimes you have to make adjustments, Vince is real good at doing that for us, getting calls to the guys and making sure we are all on the same page. That’s big for us in terms of Vince Williams.”

Because of the addition of Barron to the roster, Williams was only granted 36.5% of the total defense snaps.
