It's the elephant in the room that no one seems to want to talk about for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But last season Dan Moore Jr struggled at different points at left tackle for Pittsburgh. While he only allowed Myles Garrett one sack in two games against Cleveland, it could've been a lot more had Ben Roethlisberger not been getting rid of the ball in 2 seconds or less.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell listed 10 perfect destinations for some of the top free agents left available. The Steelers made the list as the best spot for former first overall pick Eric Fisher.
OT Eric Fisher to the Pittsburgh SteelersSpeaking of Fisher and the left tackle market, there really aren't any openings remaining at the moment. The Panthers and Seahawks addressed their holes in the draft. The Bears need a left tackle, but they don't seem committed to spending much money or helping Justin Fields in 2022. Fisher and the Colts weren't able to come to terms on a new deal in March, and if a reunion was going to happen, it seems like it would have taken place by now.
The Steelers started rookie fourth-rounder Dan Moore for 16 games in 2021 and didn't get great results; Moore ranked last in the NFL among tackles in pass block win rate and was about league average against the run. The Steelers shouldn't immediately abandon their hopes of developing Moore into a valuable tackle, but adding Fisher would give them a reliable left tackle to protect first-round pick Kenny Pickett. Pittsburgh already imported Mason Cole and James Daniels this offseason, so we know it is comfortable adding linemen in free agency.
Fisher spent one season with Indianapolis after eight with Kansas City. While Fisher was an asset in run blocking for the Colts, his pass protection has taken a nosedive. He allowed 7 sacks last year to Carson Wentz. The Steelers will likely lean on the run game more than the pass game and giving Najee Harris another stout run blocker wouldn’t hurt his progress. It would allow them to give Moore more time to grow and mature. Fisher can play either tackle positions in case of injury, too.
With the compensatory pick formula deadline and the draft both passed, teams should start diving back into the free agent pool for the next wave soon. The Steelers already went and signed Damontae Kazee as soon as the draft ended. We've also saw the New Orleans Saints sign some bigger name players with Tyrann Mathieu, and Jarvis Landry.
The Steelers don't have a ton of cap room as they had about 12 million left before they started signing their draft picks. They still need to sign first round pick Kenny Pickett, third round pick DeMarvin Leal, and fourth rounder Calvin Austin III. But they have tons of cap space available for next season. So they could make any type of move they wish because they could push the money into next season. Even on a one-year deal for Fisher they could add a void year to steer the money into 2023.
