Heinz Field is going to stay Heinz Field.
At least, it will through the 2021-2022 season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and The Kraft Heinz Company have agreed to a one-year extension on the rights to name their home after the beloved ketchup brand (and the only one that matters, let's be real).
When the stadium was constructed in 2001, the parties made a 20-year agreement on the naming rights of Heinz Field. It is now 2021. That math checks out.
This still puts the Steelers in a precarious situation after the conclusion of next season, as the Kraft Heinz Company eluded to the fact that they were considering moving on from the football franchise and its stadium. They may be putting off the inevitable. But for now, none of us have to picture a world without Heinz Field.
If this is the last year of Heinz Field, what would you want to see become the new name of the stadium? Let us know in the comments below.
