Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington has apparently asked to be traded.
Steelers’ WR James Washington, a former 2018 second-round pick, has approached the Steelers and requested a trade based on his limited playtime last season and so far this preseason, per source.

This news isn't the most surprising thing that could have happened. Washington led the Steelers in receiving yards in 2019, but had his snap count drastically reduced in 2020 after the team drafted Chase Claypool.
Snap counts weren’t officially tabulated last night in the HOF game book, but James Washington had two targets.

Last season he played 44 percent of offensive snaps, down from 64 the season before. Also had 392 receiving yards last season, down from 735 in 2019.
It isn't known yet if the Steelers would be willing to deal Washington. He's in the last year of his rookie contract.
